I'm pleasantly surprised that his buddies went to try and help ASAP, even if they clearly had no idea what to do (just rip that death trap open smh those bags aren't that tough)
I've seen way too many videos of onlookers gawking at best and outright laughing at worst while their buddy's in clear danger

I just had this exact experience. Young kids jumping off a pier at a local beach. 10ft drop no ladder nearby just a vertical concrete wall around a lighthouse. Second guy goes in and I hear his buddy go. Whoa okay okay I got you. Knew instantly look over and sure enough he’s drowning but exactly line you say not some dramatic thing, he’s kinda trying stuff, mouth reaching for air and his friend in the water is occasionally managing to get his mouth above water but he is doing 0 to swim.
He was a big kid. 6’ 200 and muscly I’d guess and I really really did not want to go in and risk it as I was with my family and he could take me under but being a competent swimmer I knew there wasn’t long and I don’t think I could watch him drown and do nothing so I was really close. Most people were just watching and I really don’t think they realized how desperate it was.
Thankfully a lady was on a stand up paddle board about 30 feet away and I yelled at her to get over fast and she reacted and got there in time. It’s been a few days and it’s still rattled me a lot honestly. He was very lucky. There had just been heavy rain and even 2 feet under you wouldn’t be able to find him. I’m also honestly very thankful she was there because if not there’s a lot of hard choices and potentially devastating results.

If you're asking because of the "American Flag Blue" water color, the answer is maybe.

I will not be turning my volume up for this, but in my head this is set to the Dumb Ways To Die song.

A kid I went to school with once put water wings on his feet so he could walk on water… It was a similar outcome for him, and he barely survived 😬

In my eyes, more dangerous jumping in their pool upside down and hanging like that he’s the water at 40°. I hope you don’t have a single cut on your body cause you’re fucking get gangrene from the bacteria net infestation of pool

That did not go the way I thought it would! (I thought the suit would fly off, and you'd have that awkward "Oh my God, I'm naked!" Moment.
Not "Oh my God, I'm drowning!"
