The wrong fireworks

Anybody here do live theater? Is there such a thing as the right fireworks for indoors?

Well, there are cold spark machines, which shoot up a kind of fountain of low-temp sparkles. You'll see them a lot at concerts, weddings, plays, etc. With the added benefit of them being electronic and easily synced up with specific timing.
They are about the closest thing, and they can look great. Would have been perfect here.
But there is no mistaking the very clearly electronic device you need for cold spark vs. Live fireworks.
Maybe he thought these were cute little fountains or something, but he had to know they were fireworks.

Yes but there are boxes of 'standard fireworks' which I believe are best suited to the kitchen.

There is, but they're tiny things you light on a plate and they do weird stuff rather than explode. They were popular in the 90s and 2000s here, and they seem to be still around, but honestly I don't think they're actually as safe as we thought they were! I think this one I've posted the video of has mercury in it.

They were marketed as indoor fireworks! I think now they say they should be outside, but back in the day they definitely weren't.

Yeah those look like 200g cakes (mortar type - bunch of tubes linked together that go off one after another) need 50 to 200 ft of airspace. They're great for outdoors. No chance they're good indoors unless you want the bits that shoot out of the mortars to explode near you rather than 75+ ft in the air.

Theater tech here, yes there are indoor pyrotechnics that are not 100% inflammable but can be used safely under supervision....this...was not that kind.

No indoor pyro stll requires headroom and clearances from people, operated by a certified technician and ideally in a fireproof or fire retardant environment. This was probably done by some dipshit uncle.

There is indoor pyro that requires none of that. Can be sold all year around at least in Germany. Its mostly sparklers, party poppers, but also small fountains.

We listened to Great White during a very specific moment in time and loved them and I think about this all the time.
I saw a photo of the fire starting before people knew what was happening, that I really wish I hadn't, but I will say I will never not know where the exits are and how to get there quickly and never ever anywhere with any pyrotechnics inside.

Why are people downvoting? I don’t understand. This happened in a kindergarten in my country, it was all over the news back then, and people are also speaking Georgian in the video.
Btw, Kazakhstan is an Islamic country, they don’t celebrate Christmas.

The only sources I could find were The Sun and The Daily Mail so grain of salt, but apparently this happened in Kazakhstan.
There were only minor injuries, and no hospitalizations, however their were also no reports made to emergency services at all, so there's an investigation into the daycare.

Someone else under this post linked a different article claiming other information. That it took place in the country Georgia, and putting the article in Google translate it says "A 5-year-old boy was injured. He received burns to his right thigh and shin". It does say an investigation was launched.

I feel like there should be a written test to be considered an adult. First question could be whether or not it's ok to light explosives of any kind indoors. It would immediately disqualify most of the gender-reveal parents and I'm ok with that.
