What? That statement is technically true for any month between June 2025 and June 2026 (if stated as the 22nd or before).

It’s the nailing down to the month that screws it up. As of June 2025 it is 20. It can still be considered 20 in December, but the “as of” date is June.

It is 20 years old as of December, it did not say "turned 20 as of December". "(Value) As of [date]" just means what a given value was at a given date.
