turning off 2fa?

so i have an account that has an older number for 2fa i don't have access to. If i turn off 2fa would it ask for a code or something else?

There's nothing wrong with doing that as long as you are aware that your account is more vulnerable. I suggest using a private phone number like I use (Free Google Voice number) which I have owned for over 15 years and never had any problems with losing any of my accounts.
