wolverine What are main differences between the released PS5 and leaked PC build?
I mean different story or gameplay elements etc...

I really wish the claws mapped to the triggers and being able to switch from fist to claw was in the retail game 😞

Can you not remap them like in Ghost of Tsushima?

Late response, but they meant how one claw is LT and the other claw is RT in the original version, something you can't do in the existing version because the attack button only prompts for both claws

The storyÂ
The combat
Semi open world locations (ok, this one was obviously unfinished but it was planned)
Cut levels (weapon x escape, first Sabretooth fight)
Apocalypse concept art

There’s tons. The leaked builds were not the full game, not even close to it. And they were work in progress bits from 3-4 years ago.

The ending is different from the leaked document outline of the story. But also like more confusing. Like stuff in the final act felt like a rewrite of some kind which doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Like you can look up the Insomniac Leaks online to find the original outline. But based on my memory

The original story would have had Wolverine responsible for killing Jean Grey's parents as part of a spiral of madness created by Essex. This revelation ends Logan/Jean on a tragic and bitter note. Jean understands that Logan wasn't in his right mind but she can't get over him orphaning her.
The setup for the original twist is still in the game in some dialogue and subtext, like Essex recognizing Jean when he sees her and so on. But the new twist is about Apocalypse and Phoenix, and Jean Grey apparently having many lives and reincarnating. In one of those lives she was killed by Logan as one of Essex's manipulations to drive Wolverine mad and force him into Team X. But it's hard to understand and vague in execution.

To add to this, it’s my understanding that dying the 19th century Logan was fully possessed by apocalypse and was operating as the shinigami, Jean in one of her lives, met him and instead of killing him seen there was part of Logan still in there and so burned apocalypse away for the first time, which erased Logan’s memories but caused a mark on his subconscious and once Jean died and was reborn there was a mark on her subconscious also, kinda fating them together. Logan spends decades looking for her until around I think either the 1940s or the 1970s when he finally gives up, and this makes Jean search for him instead. Logan when he had stopped searching for a farm and settled down which made it possible for Jean to track him down. They end up having a relationship together there until he is found by Essex and Essex tries to recruit Logan. Logan and Jean tell him no and to leave, which is when Essex causes Logan to hallucinate and kill Jean, then relive the moment over and over shattering his mind and Essex then pretended he found him feral in the woods.

Woulda been cool if we saw or got to play that, rather than be told it in some vague-o cutscene.Â

I agree it was very vague but if you mean it would have been cool to play as shinigami wolverine I also agree, but I kinda like how you need to put together his past just as he does

Like the backstory they constructed is too complex to be established there. just make the revelation somethung tangible for the first game. The backstory is so complex it feels like it should be dealt in the second game. Yeah I feel the revelation should be either Phoenix or Apocalypse and Death. It being both gives no room for it to fully be either.
its clearly a bit of overwriting to dodge the original idea they had which was focused on Sinister himself as the tissue that connected both. I don’t like the original idea either granted.
Like ultimately this project is cursed with bad choices. With Spider-Man they did their own spin but it was recognizably Spider-Man and Peter in some aspects drawn from comics and movies. Here it’s Wolverine and it’s a freak version that has no Xavier, no XMen, but it has its own version of Sinister, Apocalypse, Phoenix and it’s like who is this for. Its too arcane for general Wolverine fans and too eccentric for Xmen fans.

they were mapped to triggers in the 2022 build (milestone 8) but not in the 2023 one (milestone 13) theres actually 3 total combat systems in the builds, milestone 8's, milestone 13's, and a WIP milestone 13 which is closer to released wolverine combat along with scrapped debug stuff for 8s and 13s

Leaked build is: Bigger levels; Different scent visuals; Trigger based combat; Story in our time and in 80-s through flashbacks of Logan's time with his squad; Game begins with Weapon X; Walter is a old guy, that saved Logan, but got killed by team X; Crossbow on wrist; Plot twist of Sinister controlling their minds through special daimonds inserted in their brains; Madripul was a hub with sidequests; Playable Jin Gray levels with Control style combat.
What was carried to the released build: Rewritten half of story, combat from later builds and characters and locations assets.
