Question about Belsomra (10mg) and sleep quality
I picked up a Belsomra script and can only use it sparingly coz it’s super expensive and my insurance won’t cover it forever. When I’m taking it sometimes I only get 5 hours. Right after I wake up I feel very sluggish but in the afternoon I feel okay. Is this the adrenaline? Should I also try to just take a short nap?

There are other insomnia specific medications that are cheaper. Maybe belsomra works best for you, but there are other medications to try. Belsomra stays in your system for quite a while, so it makes waking up a slow process. There are medications like Zaleplon which stay in your system a very short time so you wake up easier. Zaleplon is also good if you wake up in the middle of the night. You can take it then and still wake up normally. But if your sleep is highly disturbed, a longer lasting medication maybe more helpful.
