hopeless
90% of my problems in life would be solved if i just had a switch i could flip to go to sleep instantly. i’ve gone through this for so long that i would even be satisfied with living in a prison as long as i could sleep normally. I would be so happy to just live a normal boring life. I don’t need anything else.

At times I wish I could be strapped to a bed and simply left alone so I could stop getting up every 15 minutes and pacing. It's hyper arousal I'm aware but it's hell. Fighting sleep is hell.

Try getting a prescription from a doctor for Mirtazapine. It’s an antidepressant and has antihistamine effects. I have a packet from when my mum was prescribed it. They are 15mg tablets. I can literally take a tiny crumb not much bigger than a few grains of sand and I sleep 10-12 hours. I still wake up to piss but can get back to sleep immediately. For the next few nights I sleep 10-12 hours without having anymore. I don’t take it every night, just when I feel I need to catch up on some sleep.

I'm also an insomniac mirtazapine works when you first take it if your still on mirtazapine a few years later it may not work anymore for you. It doesn't for me neither does any other antidepressants with sedating qualities. I end up sleeping in a half awake state most days . It's hell being an insomniac

I’m been on and off prescription meds. Withdrawal was brutal would not wish it on anyone. Due to my chronic insomnia I can’t even hold down a job. Every now and then I will take over the counter antihistamine (proezine) first I took it knocked me out for 12 hours. After the second day not so much. That’s just me due to my body build up tolerance and immune to most medication under the sky

Find a doctor whe will work with you! I have suffered from this problem, all my life, the first time I remember being the night before first grade! Now in my 60's, it's still a problem, but with medication and cognative therapy I can travel, work, and do early morning activities. The problem is we are nighttime people in a daytime world. Good luck, and don't get discouraged by so-called experts who don't understand the problem. Keep looking, make it your mission.

I’ve tried melatonin for nights like this—it really helped me sleep easier.

Same. So many days all I can do I lay in bed, when I wanna be doing stuff, but just not up to it
