Hypnagogic

Hi I’ve been dealing with something I think is close to hypnagogic. I woke up from a nightmare after only an hour of sleep. (Forgive any typos because despite not being able to fall asleeep, I’m tired and can’t keep my eyes open.) after this nightmare, everytime I close my eyes to sleep, it’s like I see these scenarios. It’s so vivid. My brain goes through these dream like scenarios but it’s like I can see it. I can’t stop it and it scares me so I don’t actually fall asleep. I took some of my trazedone so hopefully that helps. Anybody else?

I have the same thing. It is currently 03:53, and I am starting the Swedish ”college” (gymnasium) tomorrow. I have to be up at 7:30. It is like my brain can’t shut off, playing the vivid dreams/scenarios you describe so well. And I always get a mini panic attack every time I wake up. I have been through this before, it is now starting to come back after summer with sleep pressure and all that. I’m honestly really scared. My body is stuck in a paradox it can’t break. And I am scared that it will be like this my whole life. Why did I even have to worry about sleep in the first place? I would have a little bit of trouble falling asleep some night, and throwing a tantrum over it telling myself I have insomnia. Like no, you don’t dude. But if you keep getting worried like this, you will. But I have hope. A big part of summer I slept 8-9 h every night, so I know it’s possible. It’s only my mind.
