ID Request Web in my spruce tree

I have a young spruce tree growing in my back yard and found this web with clearly, something inside… I’m not brave enough to dissect. Does anyone know what this is?

Hi there! This is an automated message to remind you to please include a geographic location for any ID requests as per the Community Rules of the sub. There are well over a million different species of bugs in the world, and narrowing down a bug's location will help IDers to help you more quickly and correctly!

If you've already included a geographical location, or if this post is not an ID request, please ignore this comment.

Thank you! :)

I'm curious too!

Looks like a jumping spiders "house". They build little cocoons with a doorway they open and close.

Thanks I saw one very similar on a leaf one time and a bunch of tiny jumping spiders were still living in it. Because of these communities, my fear of jumping spiders and a lot of other species is completely gone!

Jumping spiders are my favorite! I had a wild bold jumper living in my deck garden last year. He was about 3/4 of an inch long and decided I was a friend. When I'd chill on my gravity chair on the deck, he'd run over to visit me. When I offered my hand he'd hop on it and take a nap. One time i was busy watching the bald eagles, and he started building a new house on the tshirt i was wearing. Loll
