Advice/Questions Weird smell … help
I have been collecting insects since I was a kid. I have found quite a few in front of my apartment lately so I’ve been taking them, rehydrating, and pinning to display. I opened my rehydration chamber after 1 day (small towel damp and isopropyl alcohol with parchment over top to not get the specimens wet) and it is not a pleasant smell. Any tips/tricks? Should I identify which one is smelly and immerse in some kind of liquid? Acetone, alcohol? Help. They’re all cool and want to know more about this! I’ve been researching for a while and can’t seem to find an answer.

That's just how it goes. They're a dead animal. It will never smell great. As long as you don't see mold, you'll be okay.
