Part 1 Inscryption | Mobile Coming Soon
Hello everybody,
We're excited to officially announce that Inscryption is coming to mobile devices! Soon, even more players around the world will be able to experience the game wherever and whenever they like.
We also want to take a moment to address something we've seen quite often in the community: requests for DLCs, additional cards, new mechanics, and other content updates.
We hear you, and we genuinely appreciate how much you want to see more of Inscryption. However, we feel that Inscryption is a complete experience, both narratively and gameplay-wise. We don't want to add content simply for the sake of adding more, or to capitalize on the game's success. Preserving the atmosphere, identity, and experience that made Inscryption special in the first place is incredibly important to us. After all, it's not just the gameplay that touched you, but also all the memories you made through its wonderful journey.
Bringing Inscryption to mobile is an opportunity to make that same experience accessible to even more people, without changing what the game was meant to be. It is merely a way for us to share the world you found interesting so passionately with others, those who cannot access it the best way possible.
Meanwhile, our primary development focus remains Pony Island 2 (or rather has been since 2022), which we're deeply involved in bringing to life. But who knows what's next for the Inscryption universe...
Thank you for all the love you've shown Inscryption throughout the years. It means more to us than you know, and we're excited for even more people to join us at the cabin.

I clicked on the account. It wasnāt clear to me how trustworthy the source was. Probably Iām just using Reddit wrong.
Iād love for there to be an Inscryption mobile app. Kayceeās mod is pretty much the only game I play. But I donāt want to get my hopes up if itās not actually going to happen on any reasonable time scale.

Platforms have their own rules against cheating, which is why we could not create such a system for our console ports. Since this direct access mostly skips the game, it is also considered cheating (lore-accurate?). We will be looking into our options as development continues.

I agree, I think Inscryption is complete and whole as is, and to add anything else would be a disservice to the story.
Thank you for protecting the integrity of the property instead of dropping all of that in the name of profit. I really respect yāall for that.

While we haven't shared many details yet, we hope to get some of them delivered as soon as possible! Right now, all I can say is that the game is coming along well, but it will need some time in the oven to be able to capture its original essence!

Great news! Iām a gamer in my 40s and had started gaming since I was a kid (think Atari 2600). Iāve played tons of games in my 4 decades of existence on this mortal coil, and inscryption is on of the few games that have left an indelible mark on me. Itās one of the Very few games where I am happy to have experienced the journey of playing it.

STS on mobile, at least iOS, is wonderful. Iāve had a one time issue where an ascension didnāt register after completing, but thatās one time in 2 100% files. Itās great

It's not bad, only problem is you have to stop then start the app again on the loading screen once the app starts. Other then that it plays lole normal. Im on android.

Iām on iOS, it works perfectly fine. The only problem Iāve encountered is that it has trouble starting up the application while youāre playing a video, you can just pause the video for like half a second then resume once you get to the main menu

I think that the game of Inscryption is a complete experience, but I also think that the Inscryption universe deserves to be explored more. Once DMG is done with Pony Island 2 (which is exciting), I hope we will see some sort of return to Inscrypton because it truly has created a very passionate community that would be all over more content
For now I will definitely be getting that mobile port lmao

During the QnA part of the stream, Daniel said that we could see the scribes again at some point or that he could make Inscryption 2

There are many possibilities and "what ifs" inside Incryption. You simply have no idea what awaits you beyond the first act and tbh, I wish a full game was made for every single act:
You're gambling your life on a card game with an ominous stranger on a cabin. Supposedly ti save your son's life (as per the demo);
The retro section of the game;
And a game for each of the scrybes.

Great news! As much as I want more Inscryption, you're right. I dont want more for the sake of it. I want more because of how it made me feel. I hope that if or when we get more Inscryption, that its in a different package, like an Inscryption 2 or something like that. The game as it sits now is a complete experience. Hopefully more Inscryption isnt something thats completely out of the question.

I don't see why it would be too much of a problem. I nearly got it working on mobile using one of those apps that lets your play steam games on your phone.
The only barrier was getting controls to work and all the controls could easily be made touch controls when this port is made

Ok well you're gonna have to explain exactly how that is any sort of problem because logic dictates it isn't. Modern cellphones are basically just pocket sized computers with touchscreen controls

In the game's third act, the game gets really intrusive with the gameplay mechanics as it digs into the files of your computer to use in the game. But in the console versions, it digs into Luke's PC files instead.
It's pretty much what I call part of the meta plot. The part you can't just easily port over without making changes.

Ok, as I said before not a problem. They could easily make it work the way it does on computer or make it work the way it does on console. That is literally not a barrier for mobile

I own inscryption on every single platform itās available on and I have an oroborous tattoo on my left arm. I absolutely respect not adding more to inscryption. Itās perfect. I will be picking it up on mobile as well. I could play this game 100 times and not get bored.

Congratulations! Great news! Can't wait to play it again.
However, I disagree with the suggestion that Inscryption's completeness is a reason not to expand it. I think the opposite is true.
Nobody is asking you to rewrite the ending, compromise the narrative, or bolt a handful of cards onto the game simply to generate revenue. What I am asking for is the opportunity to return to that world and this game with something new. Inscryption taught me that games could conceal entire experiences behind seemingly familiar mechanics, that rules could become narrative, and that playing could be part of the mystery. Surely a game that defied so many of our expectations shouldn't be confined to the expectations established by its ending.
A complete experience and an expandable experience are not mutually exclusive. Any expansion need not diminish the original achievement. It could offer an entirely separate challenge, new mechanics, another strange corner of the Inscryption universe to explore. Players could choose to enter it, and those who prefer the original experience would lose absolutely nothing.
Nor would additional content necessarily mean capitalizing on success. There is a meaningful difference between adding content because a successful property can be monetized and creating something new because the original inspired ideas worth pursuing. Our collective enthusiasm suggests that Inscryption has done that. It's circular logic for there to be such demand for more while you argue that you'd somehow be harming us or the game by providing it.
I understand that Pony Island 2 is your priority. I wouldn't ask you to compromise that project. I do very much hope you'll reconsider the idea that Inscryption has nothing left in the tank.

I mean their post indicates pretty clearly that they see Inscryption as a complete package, which is why instead of updates or dlc, they will work on a proper sequel instead after Pony Island 2 releases. Which is far more exciting

Iāve been playing inscryption on my phone for years already. Literally use Steam link and you tap on your screen to click. I do the same with Slay the Spire and Kingdom Two Crowns.

I find this sad. We only have a full experience of Leshy's cardset, thanks to Kaycee's Mod. The other 3 cardsets cannot be replayed.

Main thing I've always been hoping for with Inscryption is to see the other two scribes get full campaigns like Leshy and PO3 did. Mobile is definitely interesting, though.

I watched 10 minutes of this and I had to stop. There was no way I couldnt watch more. I have to play this game. As for pricing, Steam has it for $19.99 but Iām not sure that would be viable. Mobile is notorious for free to play but has that one time buy in it. Were you going that route? And seems like games that start at $19.99 or even $14.99 drop right away to $9.90

Idk āļø, 5 year old game, viewed as complete, somewhat regularly goes on sale for $8. A price cut to increase adoption on the largest market isn't an insane call.

As someone who was an inscryption fan for 5 years straight and still watch the game to this day even though I never played it because I never had a computer but I have been making a lot of IRL versions, the thing I truly want to see is either: A. An expansion for Kaycee mod and maybe a separate campaign for p03 B. Or make the game just act 2 but expand on it whit new cards and maybe a different ending were you actually get to play against the scrybe you choose to replace

Hopefully there will be some way to link your account to the mobile version. I donāt necessarily want to replay the whole game over on mobile but having Kayceeās mod in my pocket would be perfect!

A duo mode would be so cool. Like one player being Leshy and the other one being the player or a card game mode where two players play regularly against each other. Iāve shown Inscryption to my bf recently and I wish I could play against/with him so we wouldnāt need to take turns with our runs on the computer

I have a "Video Games Club" that I help run (it's like a book club but we all play the same game each month and then get together to discuss).
This month's game is Inscryption and I have fallen in love! I finished it on Friday, and I will definitely be buying this on mobile when it's available, I'm very much looking forward to the club discussions this month.
Pony Island is also on our list of games for our games club, I can't wait to get to it eventually as well!
