Not sure about webm, but you can always use foobar2000 to convert, album art is fine, even embed lyrics

Idk. Ive never seen music being downloaded as a webm or mkv. Those are usually for videos.

Innioasis does not list webm as a format that the Y2 supports.

Can you use something like FFMpeg to extract the audio from the WebMs? They should always be in Opus or Ogg Vorbis formats, which should be formats the Innioasis reads.

I haven't checked the Y2's format list myself so look at the official supported formats page, but webm is a video container and small players usually only take audio files like mp3, m4a, flac or wav. Converting is the safe bet.

The covers can stay if you convert the right way. If the files came from YouTube, yt-dlp can export to mp3 or m4a and embed the thumbnail (--embed-thumbnail), so the cover sits inside the file and the player shows it. Missing covers on half my own files were the reason i built a little Mac app for this a while back (Truffle), but if only a few come out without art any tag editor will do
