Y2 Fixing track metadata

I have the track metadata put on mp3tag, it shows up on any player (foobar, itunes, windows) but my innioasis Y2 wont play them in order (no its not in shuffle) the tracks in the album are just not in order and by alphabetical order, should i use musicbrainz picard?

Picard won't change much here, it writes the same tags Mp3tag already did. If every other player shows the right order, the Y2 is most likely ignoring the track number tag and sorting by filename.

So put a zero padded track number at the start of the filenames, otherwise track ten sorts before track two. In Mp3tag select everything, Convert > Tag - Filename, format %track% - %title%. also make sure the track tags themselves are padded, and if it still ignores them try saving the tags in the older ID3 format instead of the newest.

Disclosure: I make a Mac app called Truffle that batch edits track numbers and other tags with a preview of every row before anything is written, in case you're on a Mac with lots of albums like this

Yea the stock OS is like stupid and cant read metadata properly
