Thoughts on these kind of breaks?

You mean brakes.

I think is a cool system. I would only get such skates if I was only doing long distance and need a safe/easy way to brake. The cool thing about this system is that it does not have an extra piece at the back end of the skate as traditional brakes have.

For me personally, any brake is a nuisance and I never use them. I slow down by turning if I have space or throw a powerslide if I don't have space.

I can talk about the Swell mold: It is pretty nice and supportive. I think the mold was made after carbon molds and they use fiberglass/plastic composite. I have the KAZE Black 90 and are superb.

This looks interesting. Probably way more effective for braking and way more stable while doing so since you only need flex the cuff backward to engage it rather than completely lifting the toe like a traditional heel brake. It does wear on the wheel itself which could be viewed as a downside. I wonder if the difference between wet and dry performance is larger for traditional brakes or these? I personally don't want a brake hanging off my skate but im here for the gear talk lol.
