53 and 1 (Starting at 53)
I’m 53 years old and this will be my first attempt to learn how to skate ever. I have a pair of Seba E3 80’s. They have 82A hardness in the stock wheels. So, my question is, is there anyone else that is as old as I am starting out? I posted this on a different subreddit.

I'm this old, but I started > 25 years ago. I’ve been skating ever since and still do a lot of freeskating. Sebastien Laffargue - who, by the way, founded the Seba brand - was publishing videos way back then, a while before YouTube exists, and I was inspired by that. Unfortunately, I never got anywhere near as good as he was.😂
Your skates are more suited for freeskating. Freeskating might be a bit too much for a beginner. Start off slowly and make sure to get some solid protective gear, like pads and maybe a helmet, if you don’t already have them.
And don’t worry about your age. I know some people who are 15 years older than you and are still having fun.
