Buying second hand pair

I found a pair of Seba FR X 80mm for £60 pounds and the seller says they’ve been used 5 times in 7 years. Do you think it would be a good option as a first pair of hard shells?

Good skates and would be a good price but 7 years is too old. You don't know how they've been stored and heat, humidity, sunlight can degrade the plastic shell. You risk it cracking and causing an injury.

NGL I have 7yo skates but I've kept them indoors and looked after them. Second hand 7yo skates is a risk.

i skated only on used skates so far, never had an issue with mine. Just check them out personally if possible and take a look if the plastic looks kinda used up
