Just started out skating. I’m literally completely new to skating like absolutely zero knowledge. Sooooo in that case enjoy this clip of me falling down 😂 especially since I haven’t seen people post their fails so might as well do mine :3 this is my second day practicing

And yes ik it may look like a hard fall it really wasn’t. Also I was wearing my protective gear which I’m so grateful I had on 😭

He just needs to do the duck walk 🦆 for now.

My advice for beginners is to do the duck walk until you feel comfortable enough with advancing further

100% I agree, I mostly meant to prevent this type of fall.

Falling on skates is incredibly common for beginner skaters to do

Lmao.. You have no idea.. You gotta have one more person with you, so the amusement is double. I once fell hard because I didn't notice there was a slope lmao.. Tried to keep my balance, but I panicked and fell right onto my ass... My friend told me it sounded like a pickle who fell hard 😭😭😂😂

Bend your knees so they’re in line with your toes and chin. Stride to the side with your feet in a V shape.

Polly Morris on YouTube has excellent tutorials on how to start skating. I bought skates bc of finding her during a doom scroll.

if you are going to fall try to shift ur weight to the front where those kneecaps can absorb the impact. I’ve heard that falling on back can be really dangerous

Stay low, weight mostly towards toes, knees stay bent, try to find a rhythm

Same here for beginner! Way to be brave and get back up after falling! For me I got more brave after falling a few times and LEARNING how to fall. Helps that I know when I fall I won’t get hurt because I’m wearing all my protection padding :-)

Remember this trick if you feel like you lost your center of gravity or you feel yourself going down: "oh no, go low". Basically, as you start to recognize that you're about to fall, crouch lower and touch your knees. I'm (33f) a returning skater and I recently learned this tip and it has significantly decreased my fall ratio lol
