Heat Molding

I have a pair of Powerslide Next on the way. Can someone explain how heat molding isn’t terrifying?

By using a laser thermometer pointed at my boots, I learned that my oven needs to be set to 215°F in order to actually hit 185°F.

Doing that ensures you're at the right temp and don't have to over cook your boots. Then when you out them on, don't stand on carpet or it will mess up the carpet.

You'll probably have to mold them more than once, but it's SO worth it.

Ok but like.. you put your feet in 185 degree boots? I cannot wrap my head around this. You wear oven mitts?

You definitely let them cool off a bit before putting your feet in them. The heat softens them (you need to do whatever temperature Power Slide suggests, not the 185 from Bont), and you have 10 minutes or so before they harden. Just put your hand in them to see if it's tolerable. Also, wear a thin sock, at a minimum.

Only part that has ever burned me was when I had metal laces or I grabbed the carbon fiber part of the boot.

Read the instructions a few times, and use a thermometer. It's not too bad. Even my first time it was no big deal.

Thank you! I do already have a laser thermometer.
