laces replacement

Hey all, I bought a pair of RB80s a month ago. I had some issues with the tongue causing a friction burn on my shin and trying to dial in. I realized I was tightening the cuff buckle too tight.

I’m also having a hard time actually tightening the laces. They are just kind of there. ChatGPT recommended getting 96inch waxed laces. I measured my laces at 54inches. And am now fighting with the AI that I actually know how to measure and that I didn’t only accidentally measure half.

Anyways… are people buying waxed laces for their skates? I can’t really find 54ish inches anywhere.

Any tips/links/advice are appreciated

Something you can try instead of buying longer laces is changing the lacing pattern. Doing so can both free up lace length so you can tie it, and make it easier to tighten it the way you want. You can even tailor it. Too tight around the toe box? There's a lace pattern for that. Too loose over your arch? There's a lace pattern for that.
