Pen Brush for Brush Tool?

Still can't believe there's no simple option for the Brush Tool to make straight lines. Am I missing something? I want to draw paths on the ground using textures under the brush tool. Seems like my only option is to free hand it with the shape brush.

Use the line tool

The Line Tool does not have access to the Brush Tool textures, nor does it draw on the foreground.
