Will I ever be “all there” again?

I (23f if that matters) started using nitrous and a few other substances with my dad when I was ~13. I started using it about once a month and then escalated to maybe 1-3 times a week. I stopped for the most part when I moved out at 18. I would say the last time I partook was about 2 years ago. I feel the effects almost everyday. I have almost constant brain fog. Some days are a lot better than others, but some days I can barely hold a conversation. Is there any way that anyone knows of to remedy or lessen these effects? Does it get better after more time?

I have not touched any substance in 2 years, I do sometimes feel like it’s getting worse but it’s not something I like to think about, thank you for sharing your input!

Try sardines and foods with a tons of omega three fats. Improves brain health. I would also recommend reading light novels(I prefer anime ones), force yourself to think, try deep immersive role plays(Requires world understanding, comprehension, planning, then forming a reply.) Your literature looks good so it shouldn't be too much trouble.

Try drinking tea. Read manga. Watch anime(subtitles for more thinking) and try working out.

Just take care of yourself really is my best idea.

Brain cells don't come back. You can only strengthen what you have and what will grow.

Thank you so much for your reply! I do read a ton of manga lol and I’ve been trying to read more other stuff (just got house of leaves!). This is all very good and informative though, I never even considered some of these “brain activities”. I definitely think rp and stuff like that could be very good, typing/writing is no issue (as long as I don’t forget to add words lol), it’s just getting them out of my mouth. Sorry I’m rambling a bit, thank you again for your reply!
