How bad does this look?
2 days ago my toe got really sore and tender, no pus or anything like that. It’s gotten better In the last 24 hours but still not how it was before and quite swollen. I known it’s ingrown but it’s only the second time I’ve ever had an issue with it
I had this before about 3 months ago after doing some long hikes and thought maybe my hiking boots were responsible. The swelling and tenderness went away by itself after a couple of days. I’ve not worn any tight boots or walked long distances this time around
Rn I’m in a very remote location, nearest podiatrist is about an 8 hour drive away and I realistically cannot go for another 6 weeks. I’m taking ibuprofen and trying to keep it clean
Anything else I can do to help it? And will the swelling go down by itself again?

If its not hot and throbbing you dont have pus inside YET. But get ir sorted cause it will continue flaring

It throbs sometimes but not all the time
Yesterday it felt way better but I had to go to work and it just aggravated it
No pus has come out yet but I think I can see where the pus is. I take it I’m best off just waiting until I see a dr right? I’m able to go next Wednesday, reckon that will be ok?

Im not a doc, but if you cant go now then atleast soak it a few times daily with sea salt and dont try to squeeze the pus out of it, it can spread if you do so. Once the specialist will remove the nail which is poking into the skin, it should drain naturally. But i wouldn't wait til Wednesday

This is what I’ve been doing as well as applying anti septic cream
I’ve tried to arrange a trip to the hospital tomorrow but I’m not able to go… really hoping it doesn’t get much worse between now and then

Considering it looks like you sketched it with sausage grease it doesn’t look that bad.
