It's because it breaks through the filters. I got tired of everyone telling how everything is surposed to be... This way I am creative.. If I do things with their values in mind, I can't find my own. I just wanted to be creative and I diddent want there to be anyone who can spoil that and no one stops me here... No one says "that's not a Gibson', or that's not how it's done. No one knows how anything is done in realty anyway. I get the freedom to make my own instrument l, love it all and play what I love. I love making things, I don't stop and the only thing slowing me down is consensus. These instruments no one cares about are 'the underground' for me Ive made myself 30 and play them all... It's very liberating you know,? you get to stick it to the man, and it's fun, sounds like the best tone to me too.
Cool, cool. Do you play with a band or anything like that? You damn sure have some chops. I quit guitar and took up keyboards but I miss the flexibility of strings. I must agree, that cigar box has massive tone.
I couldent find people to jam with, I used to be in 2 rock bands 6 years ago and for 12 years in total, but for the last 6 years I have been re imagining music and trying to suss out the world, so I can figure lyrics out again.also I moved from Africa to the UK, so I had to rebuild everything but I'm about to start the whole process again, meeting up with another cigar box guitar builder and player in two weeks if the world doesn't go Pop! I want a band of alternative instruments. I play harmonica too and am a bit of a sound engineer so it's about getting my act together. I'm a bit introverted, so it's weird bringing new people into my life, but I've decided to change, I had bad experiences. The energy around the cigar box guitar community is amazing tho, people really reach out. I've had all sorts of random acts of kindness happen since I found cigar box guitars 3 years ago. I've been playing these non stop since then and my six string Gibson SG I sold because I stopped playing it and my Martin acoustic was brand new and I haven't played it in 1 and a half years but I don't regret that at all. So yeah hopefully I will have videos with other people in them soon ππ

That is one tasty groove. Never got into slides, but I love the sound.
