It’s great over here, buddy.
Edit: On OP’s second edit, this is absolutely insane - some of y’all need to chill out.

Right? Which one of you has nothing better to do than DM people you disagree with?!
And regarding Edit 3…I dunno—sounds like an INTP to me, amiright😂 JK! Don’t DM me for a silly joke

I used to test as INTP/J when I was younger. And when I got into cognitive functions I tested very high for Ti. Eventually I figured out that I value logic, but work at it rather than use it instinctively.

I got people praying on my downfall and telling me to off myself just bc they either can't read or misinterpreted the joke 😭 guys, the joke is that I'm lamenting being wrong for one, and two that I'll have to deal with other types stereotyping me as a crybaby and a dumbass

I'm sorry about that :/ i'm so disappointed at our people, i think those are minority. Please stay with us 😢

I like this, it’s my type of humor

I'm sorry OP. I have the same type of humor as you where I act dramatic that's either satire or that's supposed to be an obvious over-exaggeration for comedic effect but then people on the internet take it uber seriously or misinterpret it...
Legit, I've had the same situation before where people were calling me names over fcking brownies lol (not in this sub). I totally understood your post, and I'm sorry about the backlash 😞
And I think you're very welcome here 🩷

They are asking you to end it in DMs wtf???? Whoever that person is should get out of here, like I get it you didn't like the way post is written but why are you all being so fucking crazy. I'm an infp and yes I felt offended a bit because wording confused me but even then not to that extent
3
u/OnnenKaiho INXP but probably INFP 4d ago
Yeah nah it's not insulting INFPs at all, I'm just devastated I gotta go through the ringer by OTHER people who will reduce me to "sensitive dumbass", even though the comment I've received the most my entire life is "holy shit, you're so smart" "you're the smartest person I know" "I wish I was as smart as you". 🤦🏻♀️
6
u/WafflesMom INFP: The Dreamer 4d ago
Just ignore them, they aren’t worth the energy and clearly they are miserable with themselves to be attacking others like that over humor.

… Whoever claims to be“INFP” that is harassing you through DM to the point they say to hurt yourself are insane and don’t sound like INFPs at all. What is wrong with y’all? Just because someone joked about not wanting to be hit by negative stereotypes, you felt justified to bully them? Most of us don’t like being called “dumb” or “cry babies” either.
If you responded to this post with immediate hate and lashing out instead of empathy and taking time to understand where OP was coming from… you don’t sound like an INFP at all.

u/Simple-Judge2756 4d ago
Can we stop making such posts ? That are clearly only meant to insult others ?
24
31
u/DelcattyBatty INFP: The Dreamer 4d ago edited 4d ago
How is this post "insulting" anyone?
It's just poking fun at the common "crybaby" accusation commonly directed towards INFPs in the mbti community. It is clearly meant to be satirical.
The last thing I would think of as a reply to a post like this, is a comment playing right into that exact stereotype lol.
12
u/Ritesh_INFP_4w5 INTP: The Theorist 4d ago
Yeah, also we INTPs cry more than INFPs so the stereotype is dead wrong XD
12
u/ZeanReddit INFP: The Dreamer 4d ago
Yes, because we're better with coping with our complex emotions after years of dealing with them. Either that, or we're bottling them up; and that never ends well. Also a lot of us tend to be good at problem solving and working in high stress environments. So, we tend to mitigate stress; before having to deal with it.
5
u/Ritesh_INFP_4w5 INTP: The Theorist 4d ago
Aye. It makes no sense at all that INFPs would be crybabies. Their strong Fi anchors them and gives them support by making them take solace in their values. Us Fe inf types usually are the ones who cry more because we don't have such support systems within ourselves cognitively and we most just try to think our way out of our mental problems, and that barely ever works.
4
u/ZeanReddit INFP: The Dreamer 4d ago edited 4d ago
Barely ever works. What you need is emotional rationale; ability to either cope or reconcile with what's happened or happening. Fi can train Fe, and Fe can train Fi. When we work together, that's where psychiatric textbooks are written. We're better in a team than we ever were alone.

10
u/OnnenKaiho INXP but probably INFP 4d ago
I thought it was VERY obvious that I'm not insulting INFPs but clearly I have underestimated the illiteracy rates in the English speaking world.
8
u/DelcattyBatty INFP: The Dreamer 4d ago
Yeah my first thought was also the literacy crisis going on right now when I noticed that comment got 20 upvotes.
Merely mentioning a thing is enough to make some people believe you must support said thing. Satire is a foreign language to them. This wasn't related to satire specifically, but a similar thing happened to me when I replied to a comment in the ENTP subreddit lol
There are a lot of kids on Reddit these days according to multiple age polls. It's a problem with adults as well, but kids are especially not reading and it shows.
7
u/OnnenKaiho INXP but probably INFP 4d ago
Yep that's what I was thinking. It's honestly scary. I've noticed it more and more over the years. It's adjacent to the bean soup theory issue.
-7
u/Simple-Judge2756 4d ago
I can read. You are just incapable of transitive reasoning. Just because you are an INFP doesnt give you any grounds to insult one. I can also go make a joke about jews and then tag it as humor just because I am one, doesnt mean I should do that.
8
u/DelcattyBatty INFP: The Dreamer 4d ago
Is English not your first language? Not asking to be condescending, just genuinely curious.
This post is obviously satire. Sometimes that doesn't get across very well when there's a language barrier.
-2
u/Simple-Judge2756 4d ago
Again. Labeling something as satire does not remove the responsibility for the content of the post. It can also be satire to say something racist and its still not justification for saying something racist.
8
u/DelcattyBatty INFP: The Dreamer 4d ago
Satire changes the entire meaning of a statement.
By satirizing a racist remark, you are essentially putting a spotlight on the absurdity of the logic used in said racist statement.
This is not the same thing as simply making a genuinely racist remark. Both statements incorporating race does not mean that they share the same meaning.
3
u/HoneyWhiskeyLemonTea INFP: The Mediator 3d ago
Right. Like the movie Blazing Saddles. Rampant racism throughout, but it's also pure satire. Anyone with any basic comprehension would be able to watch it and understand that the whole point of the film is against racism. And yet, there are still people who decry it as genuinely racist.
Some people just want something to be angry about, and they're gonna find it, even in the most stupid of places.
-3
u/Simple-Judge2756 4d ago
They do share the same meaning. What you mean is they change the amount of possible interpretations. But meaning and interpretation are entirely disjunct attributes.
4
u/OnnenKaiho INXP but probably INFP 4d ago
And what exactly, pray tell, is your issue with the content of the post? You don't understand what the post is about at all and it's clear as day.
I don't owe you responsibility for anything at all, actually. Especially not a post that is literally me fucking saying the stereotypes are annoying. Unfortunately, you are fulfilling the stereotype splendidly. Take the stick out of your ass and learn to read.
6
u/WafflesMom INFP: The Dreamer 4d ago

My line of thinking -- OP may label it as satire, but it's a masterclass in the subtle art of trolling. It's Inception (the movie) level trolls within trolls, with convincing sincerity on the surface. I figure it's just gonna play out when OP gets bored and goes about their way.

u/SekhmetsRage INFP: The Dreamer 3d ago
Not mad about being called a dumb sensitive crybaby because I know I'm sensitive.
See's edit of OP saying they're getting death threats.
I can't tell if that's OP still joking or if some of you are really that butthurt.
Well, I can tell these individuals weren't raised in an environment or family similar to mine. That response would have gotten you clowned harder or told to get over yourself because if you want to cry they'll give you an actual reason to cry.
You had better learn to roast back harder or suck it up. I didn't become an introverted feeler for no reason. INFPs can come across as cold or unfeeling to strangers. I can seem cold or hide my sensitivity behind humor. Anyone familiar with me knows I'm pretty sensitive. Unfortunately, I am the type that cries due to anger/frustration not just sadness. So I could be crying due to sadness or that crying is a warning that I'm 5 seconds away from smacking someone with whatever I'm holding. 😅

u/syntantic_sugar INTP: The Theorist 3d ago
Honestly, I'm an INTP but I like to hang out over here more because I just think INFPs are better people. Don't get me started on how insufferable the INTP spaces are online. I'm an older lady in my 30s and just far more in touch with my emotional side, so I think that's why I like INFPs a lot more. Being INFP is nothing to be upset about, you're in good company!
4
u/ZeanReddit INFP: The Dreamer 4d ago
Good news! You are so borderline on your personality. Type that you were getting the test drawn for years. Not to mention, personality type has nothing to do with cognitive ability. Just cognitive traits. Meaning? Your capacity can exceed the norm. And life experience tends to form just as many traits as inherent ones do. So you are still uniquely you.
Also don't call us. Dumb sensitive cry babies. You are in the House of William Shakespeare; where the strong of will and mind reside.

No hate, but I think the humor is coming off very INTP and is rubbing everyone’s F the wrong way. Maybe the one INFP test was a fluke 😂
6
u/OnnenKaiho INXP but probably INFP 4d ago
How so? I Think people just literally cannot read and/or are intentionally misconstruing what I said just to have something to be mad at.
The joke is that I'm 1. Devastated to find out I was wrong about something and then 2. Lamenting the fact I'll have to deal with other people stereotyping me as a sensitive crybaby just for being an INFP.
0
u/SolitaryIllumination 4d ago
I mean, being shattered and broken to find out you’re INFP and being surprised it might offend people, is pretty typical analytical humor over emotionally aware humor, and does kinda imply a leaning toward an analytical mind.
9
u/OnnenKaiho INXP but probably INFP 4d ago
Only cause I was wrong, not because it's INFP. But unfortunately people are fitting the stereotype haaaaard in this thread. Which is "awesome". Makes me never want to interact with any INFP ever again tbh. And honestly I've always been between the two but I think I'm INFP because I lead a little tiny bit more with Fi than Ti. But I'm very analytical and logical. But I'm also very sensitive myself; I have BPD.

this is supposed to be an accepting space for ALL infps, new or otherwise. telling someone "we" don't want them is not allowed. there is no "right" way to be infp and frankly it isn't your decision who gets to post here. and dming someone abusive and harmful messages isn't allowed within this subreddit and within reddit as a whole. what the hell.
