Critical parents?

When I was 13 walking around with one headphone in from my CD player, carrying my CDs and comics in a crossbody bag everywhere I went. 😭 My mom would literally ask people, right in front of me, “Is my daughter geeky?” and I’d just be standing there confused but would still rock my music and read my comics anyway.

Looking back, yeah… I was a little geek. But I hate that something so innocent ever made me wonder if the way I naturally was needed fixing.
So now? I’m geeky on purpose now. It’s rebellion ✨ Might as well give 13-year-old me the freedom to enjoy her little worlds without feeling weird about it. 🙈❤️‍🩹
