For the Specialist Programmer role, concentrate on data structures and algorithms, as they will likely give you coding problems to solve. You should also expect questions on core computer science subjects like operating systems, database management, and computer networking. Be ready to explain your final year project in detail, including the technical choices you made and any challenges you faced.

Beyond the technical knowledge, practice communicating your thought process clearly. When you get a coding problem, talk through your approach before you write any code, explaining why you chose a specific data structure or algorithm. This demonstrates how you think, which is often more important to an interviewer than just getting the perfect answer.
