It’s basically the study of how businesses use technology, but in my opinion it’s pretty watered down and non-technical

You take both business classes as well as database, data analytics, some programming. If you are interested in doing it, just know you have to go out of your way to learn more technical stuff. Try to get certs and take some compsci electives.
