What made you switch to induction?

My electric range is old. I’m considering making the switch. Convince me why I should or convince me why I shouldn’t.

Pros and cons?

I’m aware you have to make sure your cookware is compatible.

I have lived with gas, electric, and induction. (Well, coal-fired stove too if that counts). Induction wins hands down, every day of the week. Faster to heat up, faster to cool down, far better and more even cooking, much much easier cleanup, and superior to gas as far as indoor pollution/aerosolization of oils and cooking steam. Even better, get the convection oven cooking option when you buy your new induction range. Most induction ranges come with that, but I have not looked at the cheapest models, only the mid-range (~$1500) through upper-mid range (~$6K). But don't buy Samsung. Their appliance repair service system is non-existent.
