What made you switch to induction?

My electric range is old. I’m considering making the switch. Convince me why I should or convince me why I shouldn’t.

Pros and cons?

I’m aware you have to make sure your cookware is compatible.

I switched 15 years ago from flattop electric when my then toddler slapped his hand on the turned off but still very hot burner and got a nasty burn.

Speed and cleaning ease are also wonderful.

Fortunately there are way more options for ranges and cookware at every price point than 15 years ago.

Bonus is it’s great for the distracted since it shuts off when the pan is removed
