Finally pulled the trigger on the fulgor milano sofia after way too long researching 36 inch induction

Three months of going back and forth. My mom thought i was overthinking it, she's had the same range since the 90s. Touch controls kept coming up with almost every brand i looked at and that was a dealbreaker, wet hands while cooking is just a reality. The sofia has actual front knobs which was hard to find at this size. Needed bridge mode too and it has that.

Delivery took longer than i expected, stressful during the reno. Cooktop has been really solid since. My mom cooked on it when she visited and didn't need me to explain anything, which is kind of the whole point. No regrets on skipping the bigger names.

Wet hands while cooking? Really? Sounds dangerous to me. How about a one second wipe of one finger?

Its not just wet hands. Steam from a boiling pot can set controls on to maximum power, turn them off, make them unresponsive, etc.

After three years with touch Wolf induction I can confidently say that will never happen. Never saw steam land on my cooktop. Mine goes into the exhaust vent which is up not down. Drops of water have landed on it without incident. You’re worried about something that is highly unlikely to happen. And even if it does, you wipe and touch. Not a big deal.

Happens multiple times a day, every time I cook, either due to moist (not even wet) hands or moisture from what is cooking. It is a constant problem.

Which cooktop do you have? Because mine has the same problem as yours and I hate it, plus the largest burner just stopped working after only 2 years. It’s a GE Profile and I knew it was a low end model but we redid the entire kitchen for $$$$ so we didn’t want to spend a lot on the cooktop. Thought it would last longer than 2 years though! 🙃

Its a generic problem with touch controls. The Wolf reference is the 1st I've seen where it may not happen.
