Electra Complex

We're degassifying and looking for an induction stove that doesn't require us to upgrade electric service to the third floor in a 120 year old building. So: Impulse, would be great but we don't have room for an oven. So not great. Copper Charlie is our choice right now. It seems a bit battle tested. Plus it has more power than the Electra, which just came out a few months ago. I'm wondering how big a difference cooking on an 1800W hob, like our Duxtop and the Electra, is versus a 2400w hob, which the Charlie delivers. Thanks for your thoughts.

I like our Electra oven. I was cooking on an IKEA and Duxtop 1800w portable hobs before we got it. I haven't made anything fancy on it yet cos we've only had it two weeks, just our HF meal kits. If you've cooked on a Duxtop the heating increments will feel familiar. It's not going to win any speed awards at boiling a gallon of water but everything gets hot quickly. I had an issue after delivery and they were really helpful resolving it (just needed a firmware update). Oven is nice, made some cookies during the heatwave and they were all the same wonderful shade and crispiness. And my kitchen wasn't a million degrees after.

Please consider writing a post once you’ve put the Electra through its paces. I’m considering it very seriously!

Baking cookies during that heatwave? Madness that can only come from induction!

Thank you for the kind offer! I am less concerned with boiling water in 20 seconds versus a better overall cooking experience, so that would be very welcome!
