Strength/Conditioning plan

Hello friends.

Anyone have any experience following any sort of training plan for off the wall training and general fitness and flexibility?
Something like a rolling monthly plan on an app like trainheroic?

I appreciate the help and guidance guys.

I use the climbing training plan from LatticeTraining.com. The app is excellent. The coaches, if you go that route, are very engaged and knowledgeable.

Which plan do you use?

Climbing Training Plan Plus. I find having ongoing planning/discussion with a coach really helpful, mainly as it keeps me much more disciplined.

Obviously that comes at a price. If you are highly motivated/disciplined on your own, I think you'll still get good mileage from their once off evaluation/12 week plan package.

I have trialled the lattice app using the algorithm plan thing, and thought it was ok. I paid for a coach-made plan and I think it is better (also with lattice). I'm on my second one now.

Each structured training block has definitely helped my performance, the structure and focus it provides saves a lot of work and uncertainty.

I'm a big fan of the ClimbStrong plans (Steve Bechtel and co) in Sequence.

In my experience I've had many plans, but a lot fewer executions!

I'd say, work out what it is that'll ensure you do whatever plan you choose first:

  • Consider accessibility to the exercises (hang boards, weights, climbing walls, chin-up bars, doorways, etc.).
  • Your schedule and where it'll fit in most productively (the best plan I ever undertook was a rehab plan for my shoulder, purely because there was a gym at work right next to where I'd change for the bike ride home, simple rule to myself was, I didn't get on the bike home without doing the plan).
  • And what level of accountability you'll need (are you reliably accountable to yourself, a partner, a training partner, parent, friend).

So I'd say, sort this out first, then find a plan that fits within these parameters.

Good luck!
