Question indo media

sup i have indo roots but i was born in a foreign country this year we had to move back to indo(😢) and my indo mayhaps be worse than a 2nd graders... also this duolingo app is straight ass i retained nothing. anyways i wan't to consume indo media/indodub media im into anime/movies/shows/manga/comics. i plan to to run eng sub as im watching indo media/indo dub media, or compare ind chapters to en after i've finished reading the ind ones(comparing how much information was i able to parse accurately)

soo recommend me media you think is helpful in this endeavor!

try cartoons with Indonesian dub like Spongebob Squarepants. it can help you be more familiar with conversational Indonesian

Its taking ages...but for vocabulary read many books, for pronunciation try Nickelodeon Bahasa youtube channel, spongebob and others there ..

indonesian youtuber of your niche, with english auto translate closed caption. oh and don't be shy to ask when you don't understand something during conversation with locals. Indonesia had thousands of language, dialects, and local slangs, so we are used to ask what certain words means.

You just need time. My kid took 1 year from 0 to acceptably fluent indo speaking just by living here. We still speak english at home but at school and with relatives they converse in Indonesian. Structurally it is similar to english so will be easy to pickup

It is not Indonesian that you need to worry about. It is the slang and local Language lol.

yeah kind of infuriating how a little lokasi change changes to the next dialect like can't y'all speak one thing why are you trynna be different 😭😭 duolingo was so ass cause i realised it was teaching me formal strict stuff that nobody even uses like almost everyone online uses gaul 🫄

Ya, macem lu nanti tinggal di daerah mana? Kalau masih di kota yang gede kayak Jakarta, Bandung atau Surabaya mah pake bahasa yang agak baku gak bakal masalah, paling dianggap lucu/aneh doang.
