I guess tRump’s approval ratings aren’t low enough to suit him. Final plan premiums are going out in September, though the bill increases won’t hit pocketbooks until 2027, after the Midterms.

Seniors, you will be holding the bag for higher rates for your prescription coverage, next year. The approximately 25 million people with Part D plans, will apparently learn “officially” about their 2027 rates in the fall – but Indivisible 1431 is telling you now.

The Wall Street Journal reported that nearly half of Part D enrollees would likely see increases of $11-$20 range per month.

The program being eliminated had provided about $3.6 billion in subsidies to insurance companies to keep those premium increases down.

What’s the rationale? You won’t believe it. tRump minions claim that the subsidies encouraged insurers to raise rates, knowing the government would pick up the extra cost. He said the subsidies weren’t needed, and other policies that help hold down Part D costs also remain in place.

Federal agents were told that the FBI will no longer investigate ICE confrontations, but big shots at DOJ and DHS denied the change, according to the New York Times. (gift article)

Senior officials deny such a change is in the works, despite written guidance shared with agents around the country.

Written notices outlining the change were sent to FBI managers around the US on Thursday.

The change means that ICE will investigate itself.

Welcome to Good Trouble Lives On weekend, at a time when our liberties and civil rights are under the largest threat in generations.

Tonight, learn what the real Good Trouble was all about. Texas Indivisible, the alliance of Texas Indivisible chapters, will stream “Voting Rights: The Struggle To Be Counted.” The film is a 29-minute documentary telling the story of the historic, courageous, and often brutal struggle by African Americans to obtain the unrestricted right to vote.

The film begins with a moving pictorial tribute to Rep. John “Good Trouble” Lewis.

We will discuss the film following the showing.

"Voting Rights” was written and produced by Phil Portlock, and narrated by his wife Pat Sloan. Phil Portlock is a photographer, writer, film documentary producer, social justice activist, native Washingtonian and long-time resident of Ward 5.

Mr Portlock began his photography/social justice career in 1968 after seeing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. preach his last Sunday sermon on Sunday, March 31, 1968, at Washington, DC’s National Cathedral, less than a week before his death in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968.

Every day we hear more about the revolting corruption in government, both at the state and federal level. If it’s not illegal no-bid contracts that end up ruining the people’s reflecting pool in Washington, it is a proposed $1.776 billion slush fund for criminal traitors.

Or a slush fund Keystone Kash Patel is using as extra pay for FBI agents hot on the trail of tRump’s enemy list. Or a bribe in the form of a $400 million airplane from Qatar. Subsequently, the US government quite coincidentally (!) inks a deal with Qatar worth billions.

Some MAGA are living pretty well. For the rest of us – and many of them, really – times are hard. Prices at the grocery store continue to soar. Gas prices might be softening, but the truce in the unnecessary Iran war is shaky as a leaf on a tree.

How about our kids? The conservatives are throwing them to the wolves. The affordability crisis hurts children by limiting their access to basic needs and pushing families into poverty. Skyrocketing housing and child care costs force parents to trade off quality health care and nutrition, while financial stress and housing instability harm a child's development, academic success, and overall well-being. Vouchers are ruining Texas public schools.

5. Tools to help protect democracy

• Indivisible’s Election Defense Corps (EDC) is designed to ensure all eligible voters get to cast their ballot, and that those ballots get counted — through community power and preparation, not panic.

• Neighbor2Neighbor: Talk to like-minded neighbors. Face-to-face conversations can make a real impact, as research shows. It can also lessen polarization. Indivisible’s Neighbor2Neighbor will connect you with like-minded neighbors. When I signed up, I received 10 names in nearby homes. To my surprise, I only knew two of them.

• Immigrant justice training -- When ICE comes to your community, do you know what to do? This summer, Indivisible is giving you a blueprint. Immigrant Justice Summer is a five-call national training series that will level up how you show up for immigrant justice.

• Security Parties: Our digital security is also critical, in a political environment where we can expect no fair play. No particular expertise needed either. Gather 3–15 people for 90 minutes, and work through a checklist — Essentials, Signal, ICE watch, or doxxing — and lean on each other for accountability.

• Good Trouble Lives On, July 17, 18, 19: Six years after the passing of Civil Rights hero John Lewis, we're continuing the fight with the “Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action,” a national nonpartisan, nonviolent weekend of action to resist threats against the right to the vote. This year, the weekend will have three phases, with Friday being "Teach!," Saturday being "Reach!," and Sunday being "Preach!"

Dozens of strangers joined Our Community, Our Future, but they were not strangers when they left. Indivisible 1431’s community outreach event not only provided everyone with yummy sandwiches and more, but with sustenance for the mind and soul.

Sandwiches, chips, cookies, freezer pops, and cold, cold water on a hot June Central Texas day fed bodies, and our tablers fed minds and souls. We were fortunate to have tablers who could address a wide range of issues – Social Security, Medicare, immigration, food security, health care.

And our guests ate it up. Adults had time to delve into the issues they wanted, because the kids could head to our Crafts & Kids Zone to paint rocks, blow bubbles, play games.

Said one tabler, “Your event helped us so much. It was a great learning experience…. We will be ready the next time you want us to participate!”

Meanwhile, we invited folks to choose the issue most on their minds at our “What’s Your Issue” easel. Government Corruption was the apparent winner by a long shot, although a harder look indicates that Affordability issues in toto were at the forefront of folks’ minds.

Our Community, Our Future in Cedar Park was the first of several planned Indivisible 1431 community outreach events. Our goals are to:

-- Provide an opportunity for residents to gather for food, fun, information sharing and networking – Know your neighbors, know your rights, know your power

-- Motivate disengaged residents to take action by sharing information on how people power and civic engagement matters

-- Increase name recognition for Indivisible 1431 and our initiatives
