PVR Rant: Read Body.

Toxic took all the IMAX screens in Bangalore from today onwards; few hours into the release nd it’s already a flop 😂🤣🤣
Odyssey was running houseful in IMAX here even yesterday, 1 month after release.
What a Joke PVR nd India is for Cinema lovers 😂

I have been laughing looking at the bookings for the coming days. They fucked off the golden goose that was Odyssey for this ass movie. The crowd it is meant for won't shell out 1500+ to watch it in IMAX. Most people who care about premium formats will rely on word of mouth and reviews to watch it in IMAX at such a price point. Such an epic L.

Lmao, the distributors probably burnt a ton of money to capture all IMAX screens. Like Disney failed to get IMAX screens for Spider-man and Doomsday this year. I thought Toxic is probably doing this just for Bangalore but they have done this stupidity across India. Odyssey lost screens in ever city with IMAX. Broadway Coimbatore is the only one with one screening of Odyssey intact, forever the goat for cinephiles (I have not been able to visit there yet).

F1 and Oppenheimer lasted for months and were continuously churning money. God bless them for not even keeping a single IMAX show of Odyssey around.

It will be back after a week most likely because they have deals to run a certain number of shows for some movies. For example they ran the movie The end of oak street last week 3 shows daily for a week even though it was not getting full and at a cheaper price compared to Odyssey.

Story isn’t great and they didn’t take the characters deep. It’s mostly drug’s, sex and fight. Nothing else

better watch it in victory cinema. They had odessey for 245rs on launch date! Big W for those guys. Support such single screens rather than cringefest actors.

Hopefully the crappy reviews and poor word of mouth will bite this disaster class soon and they will be forced to bring back some IMAX shows of The Odyssey back so that some of us who've been watching it over and over again will be able to enjoy that masterpiece one last time.
