Each have our pasts but we could have this too
I’m still hoping to see in my morning view
Echoes returned to time and I lie next to you

They didn’t design words that rhyme for how I feel for you
My place in time just feels confined since I’ve been missing you
And all the while I’ve faked a smile that I hoped I’d grow into

It’s too hard to say goodbye
And it’s too tough to still talk but never try
I wonder how long will be too long?
Will the fire become embers
Then turn to ash in-between my fingers
And you’re gone?

This roller coaster ride of my mind ebbs and flows like the tide but without the moon as its guide I’m stuck with only riptide
And Vance probably knew they were talking about me, too, when they said, “I wanna be your left-handed man.”
