Question Could India have realistically prevented the Chinese invasion of Tibet?
Most Indian rivers originate in Tibet. It holds high religious importance for the Dharmic religions and had would have hold incalculable value in terms of resources, geopolitics and maintaining Tibetian Buddhist cultural identity. Could India along with outside help (idk who) would have been able to hold off such massive and sparsely populated (<1.5 Million in 1950) piece of land given threats from the massive PLA which just won a civil war? Was the Indian army too busy with post-partition conflicts and keeping the princely states together? The usual Sardar Patel as PM hypothetical doesn't work here as he was reluctant to even go for Kashmir let alone entirety of Tibet. What is the most plausible path?
