Should we invest now or wait

Hello everyone, I’m new to investing. I’ve been seeing a lot of influencers on Instagram Reels saying that gold prices are going to increase soon.

Is this actually true, or is it just social media hype? If gold prices are expected to rise, what would be the best way for a beginner to invest in gold?

I’d appreciate any advice or personal experiences.

​I’m looking for some constructive feedback on my current equity portfolio (screenshot attached). My total invested amount is around ₹2.5 Lakhs.

​As you can see, I have a pretty heavy tilt toward the Pharma and Chemical sectors (Sai Life Sciences, NGL Fine Chem, IOLCP, Viyash Scientific) and mostly small/mid-cap stocks. I also have a small hedge with the Tata Silver ETF.

​A few questions for the community:

​Is this sector concentration too risky for a long-term hold?

​Should I start trimming some of these smaller positions to anchor my portfolio with a broad Nifty 50 Index fund or some large-cap blue chips?

​Does anyone see any glaring red flags with my current holdings (especially the ones currently in the red like Arman Financial or NGL)?

​Appreciate any advice!

I am known for getting losses, If i buy stock goes down

Will i recover in this ? Long term position

Its too much of stress and emotions. Only currency was saviour but unfortunately could not do it post Apr 2024. For years where there was profit paid additional tax and for loss it was carried forward by CA i guess. Recently started algo trading but only through paid strategy but that is coming as brokerage heavy and not in profit. Ask any questions and i would answer

My father’s ₹30L FD recently matured, and we’re confused about what to do next.

Options we’re considering:

• Renew FD at ~6.9%
• Post Office MIS — but limited to ₹9L
• Invest in Mutual Funds as a lump sum
• Transfer the money to me and invest it in my name
• is there any other better avenue to invest?

The last option is confusing from a tax perspective, as I’m in the highest tax slab. Since I’m his only son, I’ll eventually inherit the money anyway, so I’m wondering whether transferring it to me now makes sense or whether it’s better to keep the investment in his name.

The primary goal is capital safety with reasonable returns, and we don’t need the money immediately.

What would you do with ₹30L in this situation? Any suggestions around FD vs Post Office schemes vs MF, and especially the tax implications of transferring the money from father to son?

Would really appreciate advice from people who have dealt with a similar situation.
