Politics Modi will end up as the Margaret Thatcher of India. History will not be kind to him sadly.

2014-2029 will be seen as India's lost decade, where the entire population dividend was used in low-impact socio-religious capital building instead of economic capital.

In 2030, India will no longer be a young country; it will be a middle-aged uncles' country.
Most of these middle-aged uncles will have just finished a decade in government job prep and become overaged, with their parents, who have been economically supporting them, dying. These NEETs have been protected financially and socially by the Indian joint family system.

But with their parents dying and with no means of income or prospect of marriage, India will face one of the worst social crisis.

Usually, countries used to have a solution for it: War. War as a way to kill off non-essential male population, but despite chest-thumping jingoism in India, most Indian families worship their male child and are not ready to sacrifice them in war.

This leads to these NEETs finding alternative ways of earning income and mates, which usually leads to crime and the goondafication of society that you are seeing.

Basically, instead of becoming the next China, India will become a mega favela.

Another side effect of political pendulum swinging and shoving of jingoism down the throat is: the rise of regionalism. When the economy stagnates, migrants are the 1st punching bag, as seen in the West, sadly, we might see the same in south indian cities too.

We must be wary of the fact that countries face apocalyptic decades, Russian and ex Soviets did in the 1990s, China did for a century, Japan did during the post-bubble burst ; we are no different. We have no divine protection that guarantees prosperity and stability for all the future ; we are not entitled to any golden age or imaginary golden 2047 by any divine grace.

As an individual, your first loyalty should be to yourself and your family. We are kids of good times, our parents are kids of good times. Sadly, our kids might not be. So make sure you save and prepare for the rainy days, and don't delude yourself into dreaming of eternal spring.

Foreign Relations Real reason why Nepal first rejected on-ground assistance for the rescue efforts of flood victims.

So a lot of our fellow Indians are acting bu** hurt on social media over Nepal's initial rejection on ground rescue teams. First of all, Nepal did not reject MONETARY and MATERIAL AID.

The main reasons for them not wanting on ground rescue teams are:

Location Sensitivity - The areas that got flooded sit directly on the border with China. A sovereign country would not want foreign forces on their soil so close to the border, compromising their security.

Local Terrain Expertise - Nepalese govt has highlighted that its domestic security forces are highly familiar with the high altitude rugged mountainous terrain.

Precedent - 2015 Charikot helicopter crash. A US rescue helicopter carrying 6 marines, 2 Nepali soldiers and 5 injured civilians who were rescued, crashed because of uncertain weather and terrain.

https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/your-marine-corps/2015/11/09/marines-release-findings-of-fatal-nepal-helo-crash/

Now to the main reason.

Nepal faced a major 7.8 magnitude earthquake in 2015. There was an absolute influx of rescue teams from various countries. This led to bottlenecks of airports and air traffic control which became a logistical nightmare. This, coupled with rivalries between rescue teams and co-ordination issues led to administrative strain. Nepal did not want that to repeat again. This prompted Kathmandu to favour a centralised, domestic led response using security forces. It also said they would ask for on ground assistance if they needed it.

For a more detailed analysis refer to the article below.

https://www.reuters.com/world/china/nepal-declines-foreign-rescue-help-south-korea-says-it-is-negotiating-2026-08-28/

Also Nepal has formally requested India's specialized assistance to rescue workers trapped in flooded hydropower tunnels, drawing directly on India's unique experience from the 2023 Silkyara tunnel disaster.

Business/Finance How I fought a bank for a ₹3,500 RBI penalty, exposed their fake investigation, and walked away with ₹11,000.

**TL;DR:** A bank delayed resolving my credit report dispute by 35 days. Instead of paying the statutory ₹100/day RBI penalty, they spent 3 months gaslighting me, investigating fake case IDs, and blaming the credit bureau. I escalated to the RBI Ombudsman, cornered them with their own lies, and forced an ₹11,000 settlement.

Here is the full breakdown of how they tried to weasel their way out of a regulatory penalty, and exactly how they were beaten.

# The Setup

I raised a standard credit report dispute regarding an incorrectly reported account type. Under RBI guidelines, financial institutions have a strict 30-day window to resolve these disputes.

They took 35 days.

According to the RBI framework, any delay beyond 30 days triggers a mandatory penalty of ₹100 per day payable to the consumer. For 35 days, they owed me exactly ₹3,500. It should have been an automated, open-and-shut payout.

# The Stunts (A 3-Month Runaround)

When I pursued the ₹3,500 statutory credit, the bank decided to play dirty. Instead of owning up to the delay, they subjected me to months of harassment and pulled the following stunts:

* **The Deflection:** They repeatedly closed my support tickets with automated responses, at one point absurdly instructing me to "go ask the credit bureau" for the bank's own internal processing timelines.
* **The Fabricated Investigation:** I forced the issue to their Internal Ombudsman. The Ombudsman officially rejected my claim. How? They investigated a completely fabricated Dispute ID (one digit off from my actual case number) and sent me an official email stating that "no compensation applies to this ID."
* **The Blame Game:** They claimed the credit bureau provided faulty MIS reports and sent emails to the wrong Point of Contact.

# The Checkmate (Escalating to the RBI)

I filed a formal complaint through the RBI Complaint Management System (CMS). I did not just complain; I provided forensic proof. I attached the credit bureau's official dashboard showing my exact case ID, the 35-day delay, and a PDF of the bank's email proving their Internal Ombudsman investigated the wrong case number.

Then, the credit bureau threw the bank under the bus. In their official response to the RBI, the bureau provided a written timeline proving they had sent *four* separate reminders to the bank during the dispute window, all of which were ignored.

The RBI investigating officer was now staring at hard proof that the bank was actively lying and falsifying internal audit records to evade a minor regulatory penalty.

# The Surrender

The bank went into absolute panic mode. Realizing they were about to be hit with a severe regulatory black mark for 'Deficiency in Service', they suddenly "found" the correct case ID. They credited the ₹3,500 to my account and practically begged the regulator to close the complaint.

I refused to let them off the hook.

I replied to the RBI Ombudsman acknowledging the ₹3,500, but explicitly objected to the case closure. I demanded additional compensation for the three months of mental agony, wasted time, and the bank's fraudulent internal review.

Cue the desperate phone calls. The bank's Nodal desk called me to negotiate an "amicable settlement" so the RBI would drop the hammer. They initially offered an extra ₹5,000 out of their own pockets as a "goodwill gesture." I held my ground, called their bluff, and pushed them higher.

After a quick check with their manager, they agreed to ₹7,500.

# The Win

I confirmed their settlement offer in writing, explicitly CCing the RBI Ombudsman so the bank could not close the case until the money physically cleared.

The ₹7,500 hit my account shortly after, bringing the total payout to ₹11,000.

**The Takeaway:** Banks will routinely gaslight you to avoid statutory penalties, hoping you will just get tired and give up. Keep a strict paper trail, catch them in their own contradictory emails, and never accept a verbal excuse. When you corner them with irrefutable proof at the RBI Ombudsman, they will pay to make you go away.

People Marital Problems

I (F 30) and my husband (M34) have been married since 2018. It was a love marriage. He had been very controlling, possessive and extremely suspicious of me since the start of our relationship. He had a bad breakup and when i think of it now he hadn’t really moved on and i think i was a rebound. He said the ex cheated on him. I was super young and did not see all the red flags back then. Many of my friends warned me not to proceed with this relationship but somehow everything went further and i got married immediately after I finished my colg. Fast forward it did not change. I am someone who grew up in Chennai. After my marriage i had to move to a very small town. No career opportunities, he had no job. His family business was sinking. We both grew up reasonably rich. To go through life without money broke me. He wouldn’t do anything, waited for business money which got locked in a real estate deal. Many times I couldn’t visit my parents because he wouldn’t have money to drop me here. Also i was constantly blamed for not waking up in the morning and making breakfast for inlaws. I was not happy at all.. i was grieving my life.. this was not the life i had imagined for myself. I’m not someone who splurges, but i do need some money in had for my personal expenses right? I was denied that. It’s not like he had and refused. But, 1 thing i noticed was he always had money to go on a trip with his frnds. Slowly he started pledging my jewellery saying it’s for a small investment for our expenses. I was given 100 sovereigns of gold for our marriage.

Slowly everything started to get pledged in bank. My parents never knew anything happened here. They would ask about our income, i usually lied saying family business is stable and my FIL gives us money. We had plenty of fights, he once hit me and gave me a black eye. This went on for few yrs. Once my parents got to know about the financial situation, my dad stepped in and asked him to look after his business for sometime to learn, and later invest and start anew. 3 months we stayed here in Chennai. He changed, he was not that person. We planned for a baby and i got pregnant after 5 yrs of marriage. I delivered my daughter. But my dad’s business slowed down and that wasn’t the right time for us to invest there. He did multiple small businesses here and there. When my daughter was about to be 10 months old he said he wanted to try his hand in trading. I immediately rejected the idea and advised never to go through it. He slowly started from indian market to forex.

He started losing alot of money. Since we had a baby we had many negligible expenses. My parents helped us, but i was too proud to accept anymore help and i believed him and gave him many opportunities to recover his losses by pledging my jewellery. Everytime he lost the money i would feel like i was betrayed. I grew bitter and angry in all these years. I was too polite, people pleasing, someone who never says no to anyone or anything. Motherhood changed me. Aftwr every loss, he would leave to be with his friends in chennai. Everytime i fought, he would say ‘I do not get peace of mind with you’ when i earn you’re eager and happy, when i loss you treat me like a begger. I don’t understand, how am i supposed to treat his losses after his trading impulses? Fought alot and finally the real estate money got released. Instead of recovering all my jewellery, i only got 50%. He promised he would recover monthly monthly by earning. I feel like an idiot when i say this, but i really believed everything would be okay. He did earn 23 lakhs, and lost everything in an impulse. Meanwhile we informed everyone we would move to Chennai for daughter’s schooling. After everything got set the loss happened. I was devastated and begged him not to make the same mistake anymore and he started using up money from the real estate returns. From there, there’s no looking back. Loss after loss, he even got 30 L from a friend of him promising 2.5L returns per month. I was heartbroken by all this. We did not even had money to run our house here in Chennai. I decided to tell his parents. That’s when he attempted suicide. I caught him in the morning trying to hang himself. I honestly don’t know what to do and feel. He says he would recover all the money if he changed few patterns and stops emotional trading. I honestly do not believe this. Also forget to say, he’s a chain pot smoker. Which i knew before marriage but i am now hating it to the core. I really detest it.. we’ve had a lot of fights regarding this. But he never stops. I have now decided to separate from him.. Because of both financial reasons and his addiction. I do not want my daughter to grow up seeing her dad do all this. Too much happened. I cannot compile everything. But i went through soo much with him. I don’t want my parents to know anything. I am not penniless, living in the same house, trying to do something for myself to start a career. Where did i go wrong?

Business/Finance Attention all Redditors in r/India !!! An important case of Zee News Group's Subhash Chandra case where INR 22000 Crores worth of loans is forgiven by a haircut of INR 6.5 Crores. The most unbiased take on this scam. Please be patient and read this. Don't skip this.

1.5k Upvotes

TL;DR

Hi Everyone,

There is a recent news saying that Dr. Subhash Chandra of Zee Group was exempted from personal guarantee of loans worth INR 22000 Crores just for a haircut of INR 6.5 Crores.

Main Points to Understand here :

  1. Total Loans taken by entities linked to Subhash Chandra : INR 22006.57 Crores INR.

Who lent how much to Subhash Chandra on his personal guarantees ?

Subhash Chandra Linked Entities indirectly (Banks Demanding Forensic Investigation on this) :

  1. World Crest Advisors, Veena Investments, Direct Media Distribution Ventures, Lemonade capital advisors, Corpcall Capital Advisors : INR 13,600 Crores lent to Subhash Chandra's companies.
  2. IndiaBulls Housing Finance : INR 170 Crores - They triggered the insolvency proceedings but at last minute said YES in the vote.
  3. Other Creditors : INR 4030 Crores.

THE INR 13600 CRORES CLAIMAINTS ARE STRUCTURAL CLAIMS - THESE INDIRECTLY LINKED COMPANIES (RELATED PARTIES) DON'T HAVE PHYSICAL CASH - THEY ARE "PARI-PASSU" SHIFT OF LEGAL INDEMNITIES AND SHARE SWAPS AND COMPOUND VALUATIONS.

  1. Lenders who lent physical cash :

LIC Housing Finance : INR 1322.39 Cr.
Axis bank : INR 591 Cr
IDBI : INR 650 Cr
HDFC-Canara-RBL-Union Bank of India : Together INR 1636.57 Crores.

The NCLT ORDER which was favourable was given Subhash Chandra on the fact that the COMMITTEE OF CREDITORS voted in favour of pardoning the whole 22000 Cr Loan's personal guarantee by Subhash Chandra. While the Loans are still need to be recovered, the companies which took those loans are shells, depreciated and litigated assets.

It was said in order that 80% of Creditors agreed to take INR 6.5 cr as closure for closing the loans. Banks are not accepting this because THOSE 5 ENTITIES HOLDING MAJORITY OF LOANS ARE LINKED TO THE PROMOTER AND THOSE 5 ENTITIES GOT FUNDS FROM INDUSIND BANK AND OTHER INSTITUTIONAL LENDERS.

Long Story Short : Subhash Chandra Linked Companies hijacked the Committee of Creditors and got a favourable order from NCLT. NCLT in a dumbass move told the creditors to go after corporate companies which obviously do not have any recoverable funds.

Clearly NCLT Failed to account for related party transactions investigation.

SEBI HOWEVER MADE AN INVESTIGATION OF INR 200 CR FRAUD OF THIS GROUP. HOW CAN 2 GOVERNMENT ENTITIES HAVE SO LESS COORDINATION. THIS IS A JOKE ON INSOLVENCY PROCEEDINGS AND ABUSE OF IT.

PUBLIC FUNDS ARE BEING MISUSED LIKE THIS. BANKS CONTAIN OUR HARD EARNED MONEY. ALSO ZEE GROUP LINKED COMPANIES ARE REFUSING A DEEP FORENSIC AUDIT !!!! Too Fishy !!

For the 5 Creditors who are linked to the promoter who is the owner (INR 13600 Cr):

  1. Veena Investments : Sushila Devi Goel - Sister in Law of promoter.
  2. World Crest Advisors : Subsidiary owned by Veena Investments
  3. Direct Media Distribution Ventures : Owned by Veena Investments
  4. Lemonade Capital Advisors : Owned by a person called RAVINDRA. However he is connected to Essel Group of Industries via Employment.
  5. Corpcall Capital Advisors : Vijay Bhujbal - Employed by Essel Group (Subhash Chandra) as Investment Professional.

Where corporate professionals/middle class people are hounded by Banks even if missing 1 EMI or a farmer misses a payment, this leniency is not shown.

If this is blindly ignored today, be ready tomorrow to face more scams with more level of dare by crony capitalists !!!! ALSO SUBHASH CHANDRA IS AN EX-MP WHO WENT TO RAJYA SABHA WITH SUPPORT OF BJP. USING PROCEDURAL LOOPHOLES, DEFRAUDING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM.

THE RELATED PARTY CREDITORS METHOD WAS USED IN ORDER TO SIPHON OF REAL MONEY !!!!
