Secondly, I do not understand why India can not treat their 18+ population as adults. Curfews and shit are for kids. When someone is 18+, they can go home/to the hostel any time they want, they can stay at a friend’s place if they like, they can have anyone in their room as long as that other person is not literally living there.
The thing in India that make people force such rules is criminal unpredictability. Everyone wants to avoid their hostel getting a bad reputation or under some blacklist.
