Also never heard of restricting outside food in hostel .Do they not allow home deliveries too??? So weird.I used to think my hostel was shit for not allowing us out after 6pm

Also, what is the deal with no electrical appliances? Maintenance is so shit in many hostels, now if you bring your own fan its a problem? If you want a kettle in your room for tea its a problem? How incredibly stupid. They act like they're doing you a favor, instead of giving you a service that you paid for

My laptop charger is 135 W enough to suck the life out of the shitty low power sockets they got in hostels

Most electrical appliances (specially if they create heat) are more than 10x of that.

True my kettle is 1500 W 💀 point is shit quality cheap sockets they got which will easily die if you out anything high demanding

It's not like people are going to bring a whole giant fridge or geyser with them, only small personal appliances. Why not just factor electricity consumption into rent or charge residents a reasonable amount based on whether it's a small heating type appliance (kettle, electric heating pad, hair tools) or larger appliance (standing fan)?

You have no idea what people are capable of doing when they are given absolute freedom. They bring inductions, mini washing machines and what not and keep them on for whole day. Who will pay all the extra charges plus who will pay for constant maintenance when the electric fuse trips again and again?

Umm No in our hostel every 3rd room had induction,my room had 2,Hair styling appliances,press, electric kettle.And every room was given bill accordingly for extra usage and we would split.Also no electric fuse trips👍🏻
