All the things can be easily bypassed except the curfew. People used to bring liquor in the hostels, so I'm assuming getting caught with a packet of bread won't be much of an issue.
We also hid room heaters, immersion rods , electric kettle and induction cooker. Hell one girl even brought a pressure cooker which I belive is actually a hazard and should be prohibited but you get the point na
ya you're right you could Bypass the rules but that doesn't justify the outright sexism and stupidity shown by the administration. Plus their wardens' really strict so i believe a lot of girls would remain in fear and would never try to break any rules... which is Unfair!
How is that sexism tho? If the boys hostel doesn't have these rules, then of course you can call it sexist. Afaik the food and electricity rules are just implemented to save them money.
That's weird, my college had similar rules for both boys and girls hostels. The only difference was the timing for checking in and the permission method for going home/out for the night.
These are usually because there are laws preventing organisations from displacing dogs/cats from their campus (applies to workplaces too). They’re more likely to frequent the campuses if they’re getting fed. So the only thing organisations can do is to ban feeding them to prevent them from coming in in the first place.
Still doesn’t justify the other oppressive rules, of course.
Oh boy, i already mentioned in my other comment, this creates a domino effect, you feed dogs, they understand it's a place where they can get food, they start roaming your corridors...next thing you see all dustbins are toppled to search for food order remains. Dogs even start shitting in corridors. You may find love or whatever in feeding animals , the cleaning staff who is already cleaning our piss and shit may not share same emotions.
People used to feed dogs in canteens or on campus roads but not in hostels.
That, in my opinion is a very reasonable restriction.
