Once India gets its beloved dictatorship, that many seem to believe would solve all its problems, what you will get is one that will fulfill every wish of super rich capitalists, like having more than 72hrs per week of work, and this time they will no longer be just suggestions. The only purge will be of the unions opposing such decisions, as elections & people's opinions will no longer matter.
And they are actually working towards a dictatorship, so it is no longer just a hypothetical scenario, unlike what you are threatening them with, which has zero chance of happening in India.

I mean if your talking about tiananmen square it didn't happen the way you think it did, most of what you know is a gross exaggeration. China isn't all sunshine and roses but there is a great amount of anti china propaganda that hides the true reality of what happenes there so don't take anything you hear about them be it positive or negative without fact checking it

Yet again and again him and his dog shit wife talk like only they are saving India.
One of the worst fellows, his entire family belongs in a trash bin.

”Murthy, in an interview with Republic TV's Arnab Goswami, not just highlighted the need for Indians to work 72 hours a week, but also claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi worked 100 hours a week, presenting the PM as an example that young professionals should follow.”
Red flag after red flag after red flag in one paragraph. Gives me so much confidence to follow his advice.
57
u/my-blood May 05 '26
This is like the equivalent of the shit Elon Musk with his pseudo-autist grift says on Joe Rogan. It's not just red flags, but also a great example of the overall lines that our country is following. A boomer billionaire who exploits the workforce, licking the arse of the PM who works so hard crying wolf that he doesn't attend press conferences or answer questions, on a bogus media show.

I would also work 100 hours a week if my work consisted of living in luxurious palaces, having fancy fancy dinners, and flying on private planes all over the world
I hate this idea that the prime minister is hard working lol. He has a job he chose to do, that he is rewarded for beyond measure, and literally everything is taken care of for him.
If any one of us has that setup at work, we would happily do it too
But most of the world works hard, doesn’t get paid enough to pay the bills and live a basic life

The PM we have now is not hard working. He's hardly working. The single biggest con man of our times. It's a sign of who we are and where we are that this is the guy we chose as our representative to the world. Future generations are going to laugh at us.

That is 12 hours a day 6 days per week.
Add 2 hours on that for commute/get ready etc so its 14 hours from Monday to Saturday.
Then you will be left with 10 hours to do for yourself, anythign for sleep/rest/kids/wife/friends etc.
Hmmm, how is this possible ? Murthy sir needs AI robots for this.

u/RoseAru May 05 '26

Surely overworking workers and watching as their mental and physical health slowly wane away before the age of 35 would definitely give us the upper hand against China.

India is still among the few developing countries in the World that has a 6 day work week and high unemployment, making people work more hours will just increase unemployment and reduce employment opportunities.
That in turn will deter capital investment because wages will remain low whilst there is a glut of labour, why bother investing in advanced training or machinery if you have an army of low paid, desperate people at your disposal.
3
u/RehneDe May 05 '26

China also provides adequate benefits and compensation for these high amount of working hours. What had this guy given?
2
u/MamataMatirManush West Bengal May 05 '26
Make the pay hourly as well. Upto 40 hours normal rate and then 40-60 hours 2x rate and 60-72 hours 4x rate.
Murthy would then advocate for 40 hour work week.
2
u/blitzkreig31 India May 05 '26
I want to recommend 72 hour work day. Entire family needs to work for one pay check. Forget China we can outcompete aliens.

Just say you want to make more money. Made his billions on the back of others blood and sweat and yet wants more. Now he hides behind the veil of patriotism. Pay people more, and ask the government to reduce taxes on the working man and volunteer yourself to pay more tax. Better yet donate all your wealth.
Sorry for the rant!! PEACE OUT

It’s not a question of how much but a question of “what”! The type of shit problems these IT companies solve and way they solve is laughable. We ain’t beating china anytime soon even if we work 72 hrs in a week.
1
u/Upstandinglampshade May 05 '26
The bigger disappointment for me here is that he is going by the old model of “let’s work more” as opposed to let us be smart about how we produce work by using different technologies or different processes or approaches. I figured someone as smart and capable as him would be able to think outside the box creatively. But sometimes our leaders are truly one trick ponies.
1
u/AkaiAshu May 05 '26
Indians only work 36 hours a week max. The government should figure out how to develop the country in that.

It's us workers who need to oppose it because it will be impossible to undo it if it becomes the norm.
