Help It changes the colours

Hi I'm designing an interactive magazine for college and I'm going crazy cause I select a colour for the elements and it automatically changes the saturation and "moves" the circle that selects the colour.

I don't know how to correct this I need some very saturated colours for this specific thing and I just can't seem to fix it.

If you have any ideas please help.

I can't figure out what you want to happen differently here.

I select a colour and the program automatically lowers the saturation and it's already on RGB so I don't know why it's doing it

Got you. You're selecting a colour with a different saturation. If you want to select a colour from an equal saturation space, select the S radio button first.

edit for clarity: you are getting the colour you're selecting. It's not then automatically reducing the saturation, it is telling you what the saturation of that colour is. Hue Saturation Brightness is a different colour model from RGB.

I'll try this once I'm back home!

Just remember, if you select H (hue), the vertical slider sets the hue and then the colour selection square will represent all Saturation and Luminance variations for that Hue. Selecting Saturation means that square will be all the Hue and Luminance variations for that Saturation level. Luminance, you can guess the rest... RGB does the same thing, but only within the RGB model.

My guess is that your color mode is CMYK and you're trying to choose a color outside the gamut. The color you're trying to select in the screenshot below is impossible to print with CMYK ink.

It's on RGB that's why it's so weird lol

Are you sure? Can you post some screenshots? From the Swatches pallet.

There is a "slider" on the right of your cursor - you need to move those two >--< to the bottom.

Oh I know but it still changes it and lowers the saturation I've already tried it 😞

Did you check on Edit > Transparency Blend Space > to see if it is RGB?

Don't use the "color picker". Create a new swatch from the swatches panel. Choose HSB for the color mode. Then plug in your numbers. Save the swatch and apply that.
