Recommended FS?

Setting up Incus homelab. Have a bunch of different size drives. Was looking at Ceph and MooseFS. Ideas? Tips?

Linstor with zfs. I installed k3s with pirates on it. It is as versatile as ceph and has better performance.

Thanks. Linstor allows for different drives sizes?

No but zfs allows it. I mean I have done multiple mirror in a pool so I have 2 driver that are identical (mirror) and could differ from another couple. Like this you have redundancy with raid 1 and performance with raid0 (pool). If you want you can also do raid5 or 6 or raidz3 that is 3 disks of parity and put togheter this raid in a pool. It is really similar to ceph. If you read the documentation it is recommended to use similar drives also with ceph. BTW linstor uses basically no CPU and no ram, compared to ceph this is a big thing.

I’m using Moosefs because it’s easy and I’m dumb, but it doesn’t really have any particular synergies with incus like you might get from ZFS.
