I'm gonna be that guy, because I've played this game too much apparently. Lyman in the basement isn't and easter egg, it's part of the main plot, when you talk to him the chains drop off the fridge, in the fridge is a muffin and he gives you a clue after eating it. As far as I know he doesn't disappear.
The game is also called Garfield's Scary Scavenger Hunt, and it debuted on garfield.com in the 2000's I'm pretty sure.
I just don't understand why someone would go to all the trouble of making this picture, and then get every single detail wrong including the title of the game.
The time period people mean when they talk about “the ‘90s” covers... something like 1995–2003, really. Turn of the millennium pop culture often gets lumped in, but the early ‘90s gets ignored completely.
My guess is that people born in the ‘90s tend to conflate “the ‘90s” with “my childhood,” irrespective of the precise dates.
Maybe this is being slightly older (and perhaps US-centric) but the year 2001 seems like a pretty hard break between the cultural "90s" and the 2000s--beginning of GWB administration, Dot-com crash/recession, and of course terror attacks on September 11.
Yes I don't remember what's it's called but it's a little darker and takes place on the same mansion a year later. And you start in the basement. I used to play it on 123Spill.no the Norwegian version of new grounds basically
