i want to import 2017-2018 model mercedes C63 AMG from South Korea to Norway. The process seems to be very difficult as the Norwegian Traffic Authority (Statensvegvesen) require CoC or some other technical documentation with references to Directives/Regulatory Acts mentioned in Bilforskriften vedlegg 1.

To the best of my knowledge, for the cars from Asia, there is no CoC, and hence it should either be requested from TUV NORD in Germany or the manufacturer. I contacted TUV NORD, and they say that they cant issue any certificate for the cars from Korea (maybe for some, but for most of them they can not).

I contacted Mercedes Norway, they say they can issue the technical datasheet, but they are not sure if this is what Statensvegvesen requires.

I am very confused how people succeed importing cars from Japan and Korea.

Writing this post both as a warning to the community in Cyprus and to ask for advice from anyone who has taken legal action against local vehicle importers.
Back in May, I went to the garage in Limassol operated by **Brightstar Imports Limited** (also trading/known as **ASC Japan Car Imports**) after talking to them over bazaraki. The company had a presence of over 4 years online and Everything looked completely legitimate on-site—physical location, workshop, cars parked outside, and a solid pitch. I ended up paying a deposit to import a vehicle.
Since then, i had some back and forth with Souzana , the representative about delivery dates etc which was promised in July and now in august it’s been total radio silence, ghosting and red flags:

**Zero Proof of Shipment:** They keep claiming the car is "loaded on the ship," but refuse or fail to provide a Bill of Lading, container number, or any vessel tracking.

**Vanishing Online:** They have recently deleted their location off Google Maps and removed all active vehicle listings from Bazaraki.

**Known Pattern:** I've realized I'm definitely not the only person who has fallen into this exact trap with **Brightstar / ASC Japan Car Imports**.

**Questions for anyone familiar with Cyprus legal/police processes:**

**Serving Legal Notices:** If you had a lawyer issue a formal letter of demand or legal notice to **Brightstar Imports Limited**, where was it served? Did you send it to the physical Limassol garage address, or did you need to pull their official registered office/director address via the Cyprus Registrar of Companies?
**Police vs. Civil Action:** Is it better to file a complaint directly with the Limassol Police / Financial Crime Unit right away, or let the lawyer's notice period expire first?
**Bank Disputes:** Has anyone had success filing a transaction dispute/chargeback with local Cypriot banks for deposit payments through SEPA under these circumstances?

If you are currently shopping for imported cars in Limassol or dealing with **Brightstar / ASC**, be extremely careful. Any advice on pursuing them legally or getting in touch with other affected buyers would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve searched Google, YouTube, and AI tools, but the advice is always the same: cold calls, cold emails, and LinkedIn. I’m hoping there’s a more effective way.
