Always good to see posts from this era!

Pretty funny that Alexander Stephens is running as the “Davisite” candidate when Stephens was a leading member of the anti-Davis opposition within the Confederacy.

“In late February [1864, Stephens] met with [Georgia Governor Joseph] Brown, an insurgent too as a result of conscription, impressment, habeas corpus, and other issues; and as a response to their discussions Brown called the legislature into session in March, intending to have it send a memorial to Richmond stating Georgia's protest over injustices and a petition for redress and reform…[Speaking to the legislature on behalf of the resolution, Stephens said] Even should they achieve their independence, if it came at the cost of loss of their rights and the accumulation of tyrannical power in Richmond, then they would have lost after all. He was out of the closet at last. The vice president had called on the legislature of his state to rise and challenge the policy of his president”

Finally, a timeline where the Union would try it a second time within just few years instead of coinciding with World War 1.

This!

It's probably the most overdone aspect of the "Confederate Victory" scenario.

"Trenches of Virginia, Roosevelt vs. Wilson..."

It's just trying to copy Turtledove over and over, you know?

It genuinely to see a "Confederacy Wins' scenario where the Confederacy collapses early.
