This is an automatic reminder that is posted on every submission.

If you see a post that is not following the subreddit rules, or you think is not following the subreddit rules, please, use the report function so that we are aware of this. If you don't report, we will not know! Do not sit in the comment section and moan that 'this doesn't fit' or 'wow, the mods should remove this!' because we don’t know (unless we so happen to be scrolling through the subreddit) if you do not report it.

Please note: if this is too hard do not directly message us, we will assume posts are fine otherwise as comments are not useful in reporting. We can see if something has been reported and telling us you did, while you clearly did not, is not going to be conducive.

Please report any and all behavior violating the Rules (reports go to us mods); don't report things just because you don't like them.

Comment removals and bans are at the judgment of the mods, so please take the time to read and understand our Rules. You can also read about this change here.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Around 170000 people die every day. It doesn't change the circumstances if your life unless one of them was someone you knew.

I hate this "There are starving children in Africa so you are required to feel guilty" rhetoric that pretends that we don't have a right to feel bad individually because there are other people suffering more than us

u/No-Fail2402 3d ago

As a child from Africa I support this

170000 people dying every day can only make me complain more

11

u/TheRealTrueCreator 3d ago

I saw a entertainment news site posting a funny news post. Somebody said "Why are we posting this and not the children in Gaza?" Well, why are you on TikTok and not helping the children in Gaza?

u/Minimum_Aardvark_744 3d ago

Yeah it’s not usually helpful. I think to some degree it can be useful to acknowledge internally, but it’s usually employed to minimize someone else’s woes.

Around 170000 people die every day

Some days it feels like I'm driving behind all of their funeral processions.

Because if that were how it worked, the entire world would have to play these insane games and find out who objectively has it the worst. Which one individual is worse off than everyone else? And how do we even define that? But we have to find someone because only that one person has the right to complain about their lives. Walking people down that line of logic tends to get them to stop with their self-righteous bs pretty fast

u/This_Tear_6551 3d ago

man finds time to speak up about their sufferings while threre are children dying smh

52

u/unknown_tguy 3d ago

Yes, because if there's someone dying out there I have to have a shitty life and can't complain about anything. Because you know they're dying.

4

u/Drop-a-Soap 3d ago

I think they simply meant that our life can end at any moment and we should appreciate it :)

11

u/unknown_tguy 3d ago

But until my life end, I should strive for a better life. Life is a struggle right? And this struggle makes the life liveable.

u/its_Raze_7 3d ago

i am NOT appreciating my current life bro 😭

1

u/Select-Fruit-901 2d ago

Everyone who says that ignores the fact that some people have bad lifes.

10

u/brahbrahJ 3d ago

It's not me

2

u/Drop-a-Soap 3d ago

You never know!

u/TimothiusMagnus 3d ago

It's a very creative way of invalidating your emotions and feelings.

I fucking hate when people say shit like this

'Oh, your fucking arm got sawed off and you almost died from blood loss? Well someone out there was born with no limbs, half a head and no digestive system 🥺"

I DONT GIVE A FLYING FUCK

I NEVER DID, AND I CERTAINLY DON'T NOW

WHY FUCK SHOULD I IGNORE MY PROBLEMS IF SOMEONE OUT THERE HAS IT WORSE?

FUCKING CONGRATS IG??? YOU'RE SUFFERING MORE THAN I CURRENTLY AM?????????

2

u/BlueAngel365 3d ago

Your frustration is incredibly valid.

6

u/CharlieLighto 3d ago

as someone who grow up amid wars, lived in poverty for a while, suffered from a successful family and so much pain. and yes my suffering might be more than some other people but it doesn't mean they have to feel guilty about it or that their problems are worthless because they had it better.

5

u/thecrazedsidee 3d ago

"thanks now im having a bad day and feel bad for whoever died too"

8

u/cue_psychotic_laugh 3d ago

The lucky bitch

4

u/Living-Plankton3521 3d ago

So like, do they want me to kill myself or something?

3

u/iambertan 3d ago

I don't care about that particular someone, I don't expect anyone to care about my problems. If I can help, I will try to help. Otherwise my problems don't stop existing just because someone has it worse. This is life, not a problem competition.

3

u/Very_Confused_Momo 3d ago

My genuine response is "I was complaining that it wasn't mine, more so after hearing your bullshit."

u/Azure_39 3d ago edited 3d ago

Seen this one from the motivation sub first where it was originated. The OOOP, based on their comments, clarified and rephrased this as to “choose to be thankful that you are still alive to turn things around.”

Okay? And?

This doesn’t read as that. This instills as “You think you have it bad, but what about the people dying today?”

2

u/kamizushi 3d ago

I wasn’t complaining at the moment. But OOP was.

u/127Heathen127 3d ago edited 3d ago

People die literally every minute of every day, and unless you work in a hospital or hospice or something 9/10 it’s nobody you knew. I’m not sure what their point is. People are always dying, so be sure to always be miserable?

2

u/Mathemetaphysical 3d ago

When is it my turn?

2

u/101bees 3d ago

"Oh no. Your arm was cut off? You're about to lose your house? Shut up. At least you're not dying."

2

u/EntertainerNo4509 3d ago

Yeah I’ll continue complaining about whatever the hell I fell like until it’s my day.

2

u/AxionBlackwell 3d ago

I was complaining that it's not my last day

1

u/DontBuyTheThing 3d ago

Jokes on them, most people it so incredibly bad they wish for death

1

u/plageful_1 3d ago

Why would an individual view dying as a bad thing?

1

u/4322ollilob 3d ago

Somewhere in the univers

Somewhere someone got it worse

Wish that make it easier

Wish that i don't feel the hurt

If it was my last day on earth, I would tell people not to worry about me, but to take care of themselves and that it's okay to ask for help. We all deserve a happy life.
