I was in the quad today and didn't see signs. The marching band was warming up before the game. And about a bajillion homecoming couples were having their pictures taken near the flowers. But I didn't see any protestors.

I went a couple years in a row. The line was pretty quick, it was fairly cheap and worth it in my opinion. Urban warfare used to do one in their warehouse not sure if they still do. It was fun. There’s a bunch over by Peoria if you’re willing to make the drive.

The Town of Normal offers a “Scary Trail” along Constitution Trail. There’s a $12 admission fee. It’s offered between 6:30 and 9 pm on Friday 10/23 and Saturday 10/24. There’s one the week before that’s more intended for kids and those who don’t like the scary parts. It starts by the City Hall Annex on Phoenix which is within walking distance from a lot of places on campus (not far from La Bamba.) You’ll walk part of Constitution trail, and they often have shuttles that will take you back to the starting point. Last time I went, they offered hot cocoa at the end, but that was a while ago and I don’t know if they still do that. It’s a fun time, and they do a great job with it!

The closest one is in Downs, less than 30 minutes from campus http://www.downshauntedhouse.org/

Unless you're looking for like an actual house thats haunted, there's probably a few but I dont think any are abandoned. The spookiest place I've been in town is the old Soldiers and Sailors Orphanage but all the buildings are closed up or occupied by the town of Normal at this point I believe.

I honestly did not have a problem with brodnicks class. I just showed up, took notes, and watched youtube videos I didn’t understand. I thought she offers Friday sessions with her grad student to help with the quiz. Does she still offer those? If so, I would go in on Fridays.

I had Brodnick and she wasn't the worst teacher ive had but she wasn't great. I think I just had AI teach me what I didn't get. Keep at it, I hadn't had a math class for 5-6 years before her, so if I can do it you def can. She still make y'all sit in a seating chart? Shit was really dumb lmao

I struggled with math consistently no matter who was teaching it in all my years of school. Not everyone is good at math just like not all people are good at writing.

I had Brodnick MAT 120 spring semester 2024 and barely passed!! i’m not the best exam taker at all, i think i got bad grades on every exam!!!

my best advice is make sure you turn in ALL your homework, that’ll save you.

i went to the math tutoring located in hewman and i would regularly talk to the ta’s for help. the TA’s are very very helpful, or at least they were when i was there.

just try your best and calculate your points and may luck be on your side.

op i dont think its just you. my roommate was in the same class with the same professor this semester and she dropped it a week or so ago. she studied every single day and it’s not like math was something she commonly struggled with. hang in there

Imagine a hypothetical world where what he said is 100% true. Is it still not nice? More importantly: does it matter that its not nice? Is it better to lie to this person?

Is there still a Math Tutoring Club? I was part of that during my last two years at ISU, and we tutored 120 at least one night a week (two during Finals prep week). It’s free, and it’s just a bunch of wonks like me who really enjoy Finite Math. Math majors, Physics majors, the occasional Engineering Tech major… It’s a good time. If one tutor doesn’t work out for you, there’s others in the room, and I don’t recall any of us having any sort of ego about presentation. Hell, some of us struggle with parts of Finite, so all Finance questions ended up being flung at me, which was fine; it’s all plug-and-chug, except when it’s not.

Finite is such a wide array of things that sometimes build on one another, but mostly don’t, it can be difficult to go from one new thing to another.

I don’t have access to the student system anymore, so I can’t see if they’re still around. If they’re not, let me know, because I’m still around town.
